  1. Hey, don't blame me - I worked on the Davis campaign but I'll take help on commuter rail wherever it comes from :P

At least Charlie isn't selling any of our Senate seats....Its funny how we can't see past the liberal media stories and find some good, im glad he will be working on Commuter Rail...he is a good guy and he has the publics interest at heart, despite what the media would have you believe.

  2. I think 436 is built out from Apopka to 528. the 436-50 interchange is the next big project, and the widening of 50-- that's what we'll be seeing for some time.

441 is a different story. but, I think the 414 extension and Apopka bypass will remove the imediate need to widen it in NW Orange. As for the rest of 441, they recently completed widening it in no man's land south of 528 to 417, so, that might be it for 441.

Once the Overpass at 436/50 is complete they will be starting either the flyover and interchange at 436/Redbug Lake Road or the 436/1792 overpass.

  3. So i went into the Vue today, and i really like my house a lot more now. Walking down the halls and the building, it was almost like walking through a strile hospital, very boring. Some of the units had concrete floors that were painted not wood floors, and the concrete was not even smooth there were chips in it, and the railings werent very straight they were rusted looking and cheep. the fixtures were cheap which is fine that is urban but not for over 300k. The bedrooms were small and one of the them has no windows. The lofts look like raquetball courts very closed in. The one end unit i looked at was nice but paying 30K for blinds to cover all the windows does not appeal. And when you walk out onto a balcony you can see inside your neighbors rooms and walking down the halls of the end units you can see into your neighbors condos. The view is nice for now, until something gets built and the amenities are nice but the HOA fees are really high as well. I would rate this building as plain and over priced for orlando, and there was no one in the building i saw one other person in the building after touring it. If only they were cheaper it would be worth it, but i have the same style stuff in my house and it cost a lot less for me to do the house, and i was so excited to see it too :(

  4. From what I have read, most of this project especially phase I is going to be elevated. With something like 20 bridges or so and very few on and off ramps, I see little commercial development in this area just the planned residential neighborhoods. The interchange plans for US 441 and the existing Maitland Blvd look to flow very well. This going to be a very welcomed road when everything is done.

But until then, even when they get the leg done from 441 to 429, the 429 will be backed up for a couple miles at 441 where it terminates now. I dont see a reason to build the leg from 441 to 429 without building the other leg at the same time, traffic backs up now for a mile or so at rush hour to get on 441 past apopka. Then once that second leg is done from 429 to 441 near plymouth sorrento, that road and 441 will be a horrible mess going into mt. dora. It is going to creat more residential and industrial developement out that way, not much commercial at all, infact it looks as if a ginormous industrial warehouse is going up in the 429/414 interchange area right now.

  5. Drove by last night and saw concrete form walls on site....big ones!!

I actually dont think those are for Mills Park i think they might be for the New Fl. Hospital Parking Garage on Mcrae Ave :(

  6. how long are you willing to wait...

At this point im not waiting anymore, im just hoping to forget about it, and when it does open sometime in the next few year, it will be a surprise, lol

  7. Yes i know what you mean, my parents have property out in Apopka, and ever since they started building lots of subdivisions out there the rodents have been unbareable, they cant get rid of them.

  8. SR 414 Toll Road i assume

Yes they are extending Maitland Blvd/414/apopka by pass/ John land expressway, yes it has a lot of names, out to the 429 south of obt with an interchange at maitland blvd current terminus at 441 and Hiawassee Rd, and the another interchange at the 429. Eventually the road will continue West over the 429 and off to 441 in Plymouth right where Plymouth Sorrento Road/437 runs into 441. Then from there the wekiva parkway will continue north paralleling 437 until it gets north of kelly park road then it will spur off west to 46 near mt dora and east toward sanford, crossing over mt plymouth road and running parallel with state road 46 until it hits I4 but not connecting directly to the 417 which i think it stupid. A loop Road should be continuous, its like the 429 and 417 down by disney dont connect you have to get on I4.

  9. i hope so they brought in a lot of dirt to the north side of the site and from what i have heard that is the first part that is suppose to be constructed, the medical office part.

  10. I have never in my life seen a building take so long to get built out and have all its space filled, this thing has been done for months. The Vue is going to be the same way, its kinda scary. Orlando seems like it cant grow anymore.

  11. You would think with as bad as the housing and mortgage market is they would have there stuff straight and not want to tick people off, and out of buying their units, with so many of the sold units, that arent going to be closed on they should be bending over backwards to get you guys in there and telling the truth. But how long has it taken to build the thing and how many problems have there been along the way.

P.S. - good luck with the elevators ;)

  12. Driving down I4 you cant even see the color until you are in downtown then you are past the Vue and it is all over, theey arent doing it right, i would have but them above each flight shining down so you cant actually see the fixtures. Its ok looking better then not lighting it up at all but i think they could have done something a little different.

  13. I remember that, that's one of the main problems with Orlando, the govt seems to have the idea that if Disney didn't build it then it's not worth it......... I'll always remember when the Orlando club/dance scene made the headlines of Rolling Stone magazine how hard Hood worked to shut the clubs down. It always seemed funny that the city supported Universal CityWalk within the city limits of Orlando, wonder what the city recvd($$) for supporting a nightclub district at Universal. It must have been worth it, that was also the final nail on Church Street's coffin. That may have been for the best, I prefer what is happening on Church St. now as opposed to the old tourist attraction, as long as all the new development is a success. Also "Light Up Orlando" could have turned in to some sort of traditional street party, like Gasparilla, Mardi Gras, Guavaween, where the residents of the city could relax and have a good time once a year and not be herded off in to roped off "beer drinking" areas. And one more complaint....at the time the Majic were in the playoffs/championship the World Cup Soccer thing was going on in Orlando and Mayor Hood wanted to make the dome on top of city hall in to a soccer ball.....hello, local basketball team makes big, mayor doesn't give a crap.......Hopefully it's all been a lesson and we are much more pro-Orlando now and finally ready to do something for the residents of this city. Let the mouse now be in the shadow of Orlando, and Orlando no longer be in the shadow of the mouse!

Seriously that is funny you bring that up ill be 26 soon, and i went to "light up orlando" when i was kid with my dad, it was one of those things that i remember from my childhood, lol, that is no longer here, and could have had good potential to become something more. I also remember the whole hoopla over putting a soccerball on the top of the cityhall building, oh memories. thanks for getting the old forgotten neurons in my brain firing again.

  14. seems like a whole lot of money being spent for just architecture, renaming and revamping what is already there, if they dont add another roller coaster it will be a worthless project, someone in the city needs to get some 6alls and build a rollercoaster that actually is exciting. I have been to cedar point and nothing here compares to there, or for that matter six flags even has better rides, the spiderman and mummy are great rides for orlando nothing against them but we need a tall or really fast rollercoaster here.

  15. my question is simply: where will that attraction go inside Islands? will they expand Islands, or convert an existing island within Islands?

They are tearing out part of the lost continent and adding more park in an area on the side i believe. And as for the snow, i dont think it will be real just plaster snow pasted on everything to make it look like it snowed.
