No the deli isn't open yet. The owners are people from the neighborhood, in fact I think they live on Herrin somewhere. When I drove by yesterday, I saw them working on it but no word yet on when it might officially open. I'll let you know when I find out.

As someone who lives in NoDa I have to see that I am thrilled that we are finally getting some new restaurants that are within walking distance of my home (The Colony). Also, since I see so much "Fat City" love in this thread, I will tell you that the people opening up Salvador Deli are going to be using some of FC's sandwich recipes. I, for one, miss the chicken salad like nobody's business! And the squash casserole. Who could forget the squash casserole? I haven't eaten at Solstice yet, but hear it is good bar/tavern food.
