dang, that design looks like what you will find on I-95, not a downtown.

That unsportsmanlike penalty by that overzealous and dumb freshman killed UCF momentum.

Still waiting for overnights and viewership for a extremely bias lsu heavy crowd/dancers/band view ratio. That's the joke.
59k at the citrus bowl in beautiful weather was nice to see on terrestrial tv.
It surely looks like UFC with all the ejections.

If you assume 8 blocks per sq mile, then the number of workers and residents per city block is
1. Miami 11,993 ppl/block
2. Tampa 7,784, 18.8 bars/block
3. Orlando 4,652, 9.6 bars/block
4. Jax 1,922, 3.4 bars/block
Jacksonville area (and Tampa to much less extent), has water bodies that affected the calculation

Eastern Tennessee scenery from Chattanooga to Johnson City is absolutely gorgeous. Western Tennessee (Memphis) not so much.

Unfortunately them losing further fuel the critics argument of UCF schedule. But we can only play what's in front of us. #goknights #chargeon

That’s interesting to me given that San Antonio has the Riverwalk. Given many on here often are dismissive of downtown O-town as being of no interest to our tourists, can you talk about that more? Also, is the Alamo close to downtown? (Obviously, I’ve not been to San Antonio so your impressions are great.)
Downtown SA is very spread out, with lots of surface parking lots. Honestly it's kinda ugly, not as cozy or intimate as Orlando. There are hardly residents living dt, but theres several plans for condos. So it's kinda dead at the street level.
Now when you go down a level to the river walk, its like the great gatsby lol. Rich tourists partying and spending money. It's like a different city. It feels like Disney, clean and pretty landscapes, but without the fakeness. As cool as it is, locals do not hang there because the food and drinks are tourists price. Most locals hang out at the Pearl, st Mary strip, Southtown, and rather small gay strip. And yes the Alamo is right dt next to riverwalk.
What dt Orlando has are tons of ppl living downtown, but we need to lure more businesses, retails, and yes touristy chains. Designing great blgs and condos is the easiest thing Orlando can do, and we are failing miserably with projects like this.

I live in San Antonio now and even though downtown Orlando is much much more vibrant than SA, the proposed buildings here are far more interesting. The architect for this thing needs to get spanked!

that escalated quickly. I really enjoyed and appreciated the conversation and insights regarding this topic. Hopefully you all can continue sharing.

There’s some units that would retain the view. Those units (1/1 about 900 sqft) are going for $2200 starting.
yikes! that near DC pricing not including a parking space!

^^thae landscape in the last 2 pics are horrendous. I thought it was an abandoned building behind those trees.

Surely you took pictures...
lol, unfortunately I have a cheapo phone. Im sure theres plenty on the Austin forum, etc. That "jenga" building U/C is looking great. I live in San Antonio now and SA feels like grandma's house compared to teenage Austin. One thing Orlando has that neither TX cities cant touch is water, lakes, and afternoon showers. Its sunny 100+ degrees with no options for water activities.

Visiting Austin for memorial wknd, and all I can say is WOW!. The energy, cool districts, architecture, downtown, and skyline (esp at night) blew me away. It really looked like a world class city. Orlando really needs to step up their game.

They should name it the Village we inspired to be but surely will disappoint.

Lake Nona isn't close enough?
I think IAmFloridaBorn meant a tennis stadium at the Lake Nona USTA center, which I agree.

This project will happen as soon as Orlando World Trade, City Centre, City Central, The Montage, Magic Complex, Elon Musk hyperloop, etc break ground.

It's technically closed meaning there's no security or the fountain is off, other than that people stroll, jog around that time. And ppl cut across the all the time from parking to bars, condos to condos, etc. Any gate or wall would be the worst of ideas.
Anyways, back to Modera?

Still wished that "L" configuration was on Rosalind and Central for greater sidewalk visual impact.

I personally dont think the seller is ethically wrong either. They not hiding anything, proposed plans are available to anyone if they are smart buyers. Heck, in this case, the building is being erected for everyone to see.

Obviously I'm in the minority here. But trust me, I'm not going out of my way to be overly critical. I'm simply saying what has always been in my mind. I was genuinely surprised to read peoples opinion of the building.
That's the view from my kitchen, i obviously wasn't bothered enough by it to forgo buying this condo. However, it did make me think twice lol

The BOA (and downtown) looks so sad by itself from that vantage point

Having played there hundreds of time, make no sense, financially and logistically,to relocate it. And if it is relocated, hopefully its somewhere near business district. Playing with skyline in the background provides a big city feeling.

Only that, if you criticize an entity or people that support it as being of questionable "CLASS", then you better have the last name Rockefeller or Hilton, always fly first class, eat with real silverware, go to a private school, live in area code 90210, drive a Jag, have a membership at Isleworth Golf Club or Winter Park Tennis Club, be a major donor to Rollins, have a country house in Bordeaux, France, have an ancestral lineage that founded this country, and frequent the Swiss Alps like it ain't no thang. Anything less than that, and nobody has room to talk, present company included.
Oh, and actually have a lineage of royalty from some European country...
CLASS isn't defined by money, and definitely not by the type of entertainment.

with the firing of GM Hannigan today, maybe the Magic is up to something. And may be part of their future plans.
