  2. Union Brygge Drammen - Buskerud Uinion Brygge is a development project in downtown Dremmen which contains cultural development, residential development and retail/office development. The current construction piece contains 6 residential buildings. The tallest is three 7 floor tall twins facing towards the river. These buildings will also contain retail space, such as restaurants and smaller shopps in the first floor.

  5. Hinna Brygge B Stavanger - Norway General information: Floors: 12 (13 included the entrance floor) Construction period: Early 2005 - 2006/2007. Current status: Approved Apartments: 33 About Hinna Brygge B: Hinna Brygge B is the second construction phase in this project. The residential tower own a space of 4 000sqm which will contain 33 apartments divided into 12 floors. A 13th floor also exist, as the towers entrance and equipment floor. The building may start construction sometime during the first months of 2005 and is expected to be completed in late 2006 or early 2007. The tower is situated in the water, and each apartment contains one or several balconies with different sizes. All 33 apartments has a size from 76.1sqm to 139.1sqm. Each floor contains of 4 apartments, exept from 7th floor to 11th floor where its 2 apartments each floor. 12th floor contains of one apartment with a size of 139.1sqm and is the largest apartment in the tower.   6. Oslo City to get Larger! Oslo - Norway Oslo City is already the second largest shopping mall in Oslo with a turnover on 1.4 billion NOK, but this is not enough. A new floor with 3 300sqm of retail area will be added. The planns has been developed for three years, but the construction has finally started. The new entrance to Oslo City. It will contain a big screen for commercials and short movies. A new inside look.
  7. Leangen Ishall Trondheim - Norway A new icehall has been proposed in Trondheim. This hall will room 12 000 spectactors and may also contain 250 apartments. The hall can be used to handballx4 fields, hockey, skatefieldx400m and homefield to local Trondheim football teams. This is actually the second proposal of reconstruction of a new hall. 4 years ago they was planning a new hall, but these planns wrecked. Now that the discussion of a new hall is headlines again, its larger changes for success.
  8. Its countless of interesting projects around Norway nowdays. We have had a explosion in residential projects, and from this year they expect a explosion of office and retail developments. New Lerkendal Stadium Trondheim - Norway Lerkendal Stadium is the homefield for the greatest Norwegian football team, Rosenborg. This stadium was reconstructed in 2001-2003, but will soon be reconstructed yet another time. But this is not going to be any full scale reconstruction. A gigantic roof will be built uppon the stadium, which they can remove during summers. With this roof they will be able to play football even in mid winter with -30c and 1m snow outside the stadium. The cost of such a roof is estimated to be around 100 million NOK. But this is still planns which has not been approved, but the development will continue through 2005.
  9. Hanapiren Sandnes - Rogaland Architect: Signatur Arkitekter AS Current status: Approved A smaller project in Sandnes which was approved in july last summer. The project contains a 9 storey and 4 storey tall residential tower with 61 apartments. The apartments is from 36sqm to 126sqm and is vey expencive, first of all because of the location. The salesment of the apartments is now almost completed and construction start is expected to happend sometimes during the spring 2005.
  10. Nye Brann stadion towers Bergen - Hordaland This is the tallest real proposal i ever have seen in Norway, the twins which was proposad togather with Brann's new fotball stadium. The towers which is supose to be 150m each with 40 floors is a proposed development. The towers will content residentials, offices, retail and a hotel. Both towers is expected to be completed in 2015 if it becomes built.
  11. Forus City Stavanger - Rogaland Forus City is a large vision or a proposal of what to become of Forus, the area between Stavanger and Sandnes. The project contains 300 000sqm of office, residential and hotel space in several towers up to 45 floors (250m). As far as i know the project has been put on hold, and no development of the vision is been done. None the less, here are some images: This is another phase of the Forus City proposal, with a 25 storey office and hotel tower. The tower will also become the signal tower for the main trotting course stadium in Stavanger/Sandnes.
  12. Brueland Sandnes - Rogaland This is a proposal to a new urban area in Sandnes. The project contains 97 000sqm of office and residential usage, including a 21 storey residential tower. The project proposal was presented in the end of 2004, so i don't know much yet about this project.
  13. This is a fjord so the danger of flood isn't that high, btu flood may happend when hurricanes approaches. But the sea level usually don't go higher than 2-3m. The Stavanger area is often hit by hurricanes or storms, but Hinna Brygge is not in the most dangerous area. There are hills between the ocean and the towers protecting quite well. Many buildings in Norway is nowdays buitl to withstand earthquakes, even though earthquakes above 4-5 pints happends. But there has been incidents of earthquakes up to 7 points the last 200 years.
  14. Kristiansand Cultural Center Kristiansand - Norway A new cultural center is to be built in Kristiansand, Norway. So, an architectural competition was done, and in early february 2005 the city council finally pronounced the winner. 93 spectacular and impressive suggestions from 21 different countries was treated, and the winner became the finnish ALA Architects for their proposal, Tutu. The new theatre and concert house in Kristiansand is to cost 1.1 million NOK and is supose to be completed in 2010. Model image.
  15. No idea, but i guess they also agreed that The Pinnacle didn't fit with Jumeirah or Jabel Ali. The Pinnacle looks far better in the Waterproject that Jumeirah. But i have no idea why they changed the name. Al Burj reminds me too much of Burj Al Arab and Burj Dubai, so im not sure if i would favour the name though.
  16. Dubai launches new gigantic waterproject Dubai - UAE The project will start construction in the beginning of 2005... Project overview. The Palm, Jebel Ali becomes small compared to this gigantic project. Al Burj, another tall skyscraper with 750m. The tower is actually The Pinnacle who has been removed from Jumeirah to this location. Al Burj. And i urge you to visit their homepage and read more and see the fantastic video from the project.
  17. Sami Center of Science Kautokeino (Guovdageidnui) - Norway There is a architectural competition was finished in Kautokeino, the Sami capital in august 2004. A new Sami Center of Science is to be built, and several architects has made a proposal. 6 architect firms was involved with one proposal each, and the winner of the competition was Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter. The winning design will start construction in 2007 and is expected to be completed in 2009. The 10 000sqm large building will become a Sami center of science.   18. Arctic Cultural center Hammerfest - Norway This is a new cultural center which won the architectural competition earlyer this year. The center made by the same architect firm that is behind the Barcode concept in Oslo. This center will content a conference hall and a cinema hall which can also be used as a theater hall. The construction will start in January 2005 and is expected to be completed in 2008.
