Amtrak Station Relocation

It looks like the ITP is looking to move the current Amtrak station to the ITP, creating a true intermodal transportation hub:

The ITP has asked to renew an option they have to the South of the Central Station.

Can't place exactly where they are talking about putting this. The only thing that I can think of south of the ITP is the GR Ballet building. Also, is there already a RR line there, or will a spur have to be built?

Regis is down today, or I'd post a shot of that area. There isn't a spur in that area as far as I know. I wonder how they would get the train OUT of that area (reverse?)

I am glad to hear that ITP is pursuing this. The new Central Station is turning out to be exactly what it was intended to be: Bus station, Greyhound station, Amtrak station, and eventual light rail station....I hope!

There is not currently a spur to the station. The track is just south of the station (maybe 1/4 mile). If they could fit in a Y "turn around" spur they could back the train into the station and always leave going forward.

Yah the first time I saw the current Amtrak station I couldn't believe it. THAT is a train station?!

The new Central Station will be a much better location if this goes through.

It was built for the service capacity at that time. Now its just praying for someone to end its life.

..... but Monte thats somebodys private property that just happens

to be conveniently located for the big shiney new transit hub, just think,

if it goes on open and notoriously for another 6 years, I mean maybe

then there would be a parking lot for the actual Greyhound customers

via adverse possession and then.....
