    • Description: Museum centered around the 1960 Woolworth Lunchcounter Sit-ins in downtown Greensboro. The sit-in act in Greensboro started a nationwide sit-in movement and also kicked off the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The museum has civil rights artifacts from around the country including a shard of glass from the Birmingham church bombing and a rocking chair Martin Luther King Jr sat in while he was in court. The pen the Lyndon B Johnson used to sign the civil rights act is also in the museum. There were efforts to bring the actual Rosa Parks bus to be permanently put on display here.
