Downtown Greenway Loop

Description: A four mile trail that will loop around downtown. The trail will provide recreation for bicyclists and pedestrians. Currently the loop is being built in phases and its expected to take around 10 years to complete. The first phase on the south end of downtown is complete. Future phases will include water features, public art, outdoor classes rooms for adjoining colleges, recreation center, linear park, and an outdoor junior Olympic Swimming pool. Greeway sections will also have "gateways" and the downtown greenway will connect with the citywide greenway system.<br /><br />Greensboro is the first city in the nation to build a greenway tht loops around downtown.
