A Holiday Inn Express on Cowhorn Creek Road is just one of several new hotels in the development pipeline for Texarkana. D&D Lodging is about to start building a Holiday Inn Express near Central Mall on a 2-acre pad near the Hampton Inn & Suites and Outback Steakhouse. Weather permitting, the 90-room hotel should open sometime around April next year. A Candlewood Suites will be a 75-suite property with anticipated opening late next year or early 2009. Groundbreaking on that project is expected this summer. The hotel brand is an extended stay hotel focused on space, comfort and value. Also, groundbreaking for a 120-room Holiday Inn is anticipated late this year and a 100-room Arkansas-side Holiday Inn Express is slated for the Arkansas side of town. Groundbreaking for the latter is expected in spring 2009.

Yet another hotel is entering the Texarkana market. Holiday Inn is building a 5 story 130 room hotel off Richmond Road. It will sit on 2.33 acres. This is the 5th hotel announced for the city this year.
