what have you heard about living at Trumbull on the Park, such as parking situation, comfort level on the street, comfort level in the park, the apartments themselves, and people's assessment of their decision to move there?

I also would like to know.

There are 4 upscale rental buildings in downtown Hartford. I have lived at 55 on the Park for several years and have only first hand experience in this building. Here are all my impressions from visiting these buildings:

55 on Park:

PROS Huge windows with lots of sunlight; High ceilings give airy feel to the room; Courtney the doorman is great; cheapest of the 4 upscales places; Nice kitchen island layout

CONS Parking sucks, Management sucks (many tenants agree); Plan on hearing your neighbors through the paper thin walls

Hartford 21:

PROS High quality all around (big difference compared to 55 on Park), Superb ancillary services (valet, gym, service), management actually seems friendly, higher floors have wonderful views of the city, grocery on ground floor coming

CONS Most expensive

Temple & Main:

PROS High quality apartments; managment seems to care;

CONS there weren't that many apts available (high demand?), prices a bit expensive (not as bad as H21)

Trumbull on Park:

PROS Similar quality to 55 on Park but does seem better built (walls& windows seem better insulated), comparable price to 55 on Park though still higher

CONS Overall not as nice as H21 and Temple/Main;

Outside but close to downtown: Colt Gateway

PROS Beautiful apartments, hardwood floors, huge windows, nice apt layouts

CONS leasing people didn't quite seem with it (couldn't answer a lot of questions or were evasive), wasn't too sure about quality of the apartments/building, parking sucks, in the middle of no where, so close to highway wasn't sure about noise

I may soon be making the move from 55 on Park to Trumbull on Park. Anyone with more to add?

My fiancee and I are moving from the West End to Main & Temple. From a budget standpoint, it's certainly a stretch, and there's no way we'd be able to do it if we weren't both working, but splitting the costs makes it feasible. The apartments are very spacious, which was what sold us; from a $$/sq. foot standpoint, it's a far better value than H21. We also like being right at the end of Pratt St. --coffee at JoJo's every morning! We've got a dog so we're a bit nervous about how often we'll have to take him out at night, especially when it gets cold. Safety certainly is a concern because of that, but I think these developers know they have to keep things safe; the Main and Temple building has cameras all over the place outside and security patrols 24/7. All in all, we're excited.

i live at trumbull on the park and like it. can't hear any of my neighbors due to soundproof units. parking is in secure garage, there were 3 thefts at the beginning of last summer, since then they have put in cameras and 24 hr security. management is good. the park is great. i'm happy with the decision.
