By capping part of I-277 and creating a 6-acre linear park on top, you can transform the adjacent land, which is largely underutilized as highway right-of-way, into highly valuable, developable property. This would allow for the construction of more lucrative buildings in place of the existing low-rise structures and on-ramps, potentially generating billions of dollars in taxable property value.

I’ve always wanted to see this happen.  Do you think that it’s likely?

Why not?  Klyde Warren Park has had enormous success in Dallas.

Call me a cynic, but after 35 years of observation, it’s apparent that the powers that be no longer have the vision to do extraordinary things.  The city needs a new McColl.

I went to the Leeper Wyatt this week and I assume the front of the building matches the front of the former church (Lelluiah) as to distance from the front property line. Will the floor height match also?  The white rim of the church building I mean which I assume is sill height.

Yes. Per the rezoning docs, the building will be setback to match the existing building setback, which says about 29' from back of curb to the structure (not the stairs, columns, etc.). Not sure about the floor heights.

That would be awesome, it definitely does look like they are about ready to open!

I think its mostly going to be focused on cocktails and coffee, but I would imagine their beer appears as well.
