I don't watch Firefly much, but my Dad is a huge fan of it. He's looking forward to the movie Serenity.

Who knows? I might catch the movie myself, too.

Is anyone here watching the Firefly replay on SciFi these days and lookin forward to the upcoming movie Serenity based on the series?

Yay! Someone who watches scifi other than me  . I've watched the show occasionally and from what i've seen it is very interesting. I'm definately looking forward to the movie.

i borrowed the series from my friend. at first i was thinking that this wasnt that great, but by the time i got to the episode where the ship lost power and the captain was dying thats when i really got into the series. i cant belive they canceled it! my friend said the movie was better than he expected and he had great expectations for it. so how was the movie? i'll see it this weekend.

Ditto that. At first the hype sort of kept me at a distance, and the genre cliches were a bit distracting, but things really started to click for me after a few episodes. The movie is an absolute must-see if you enjoyed the series.

That movie was awesome! I just saw it today and it was a very innovative scifi film. The characters actually had depth which is strange in scifi nowadays. The main villain was excellent and probably one of my favorite characters in the movie. He was one bad dude  . I must say, having not seen but 1 or 2 episodes of firefly I had no trouble following the movie at all. I'd recommend anyone see it.

I don't think the Fox executives knew what a gem they had with Firefly (no surprise here) when they canceled it. It's unfortunate they are not making new episodes but at least we have a movie now.

I guess we are stuck with pulp stock scripting, really bad acting, and poor directing of the likes of SG1 & Atlantis. At least there is BSG.

I did see Serenity last night, and it was excellent. I recommend it to any SciFi fan.

I loved the movie! If my friend hadn't recommended it, I probably wouldn't have given it the time of day, but it was so captivating. Now I wish I would've actually watched this show when it was on TV.

Yeah it is amazingly good. You can catch replays of Firefly on the SciFi channel on Friday nights at 7pm.

I saw it last night. It was pretty good. It looks like they set it up for a sequel. The commander dude of the bad army was awesome. especially in the beginning when he made the guy fall on his sword....insane! :) . And river was kickin' some rump.

I didn't realize SciFi was re-playing the show, I was planning on getting it on NetFlix (is it out on DVD, I don't even know).

I saw the film last week at a film festival I was at in Spain, the captain guy and River and the writer/director were there. I'd never seen the show, but the mostly Spanish crowd was going crazy for these people. I really enjoyed the movie, but I kind of wish, they had succeeded, but everyone died in the end. It would have been fun to give a big f-u to Fox and make sequels impossible. But, I guess I'm actually glad there's a chance for a sequel.

Fox is pretty dumb with cancelling shows too soon. Now that Famliy Guy is back, there's some talk of bringing back Futurama, but I don't know if that will happen. Did anyone catch the first new ep. of Family Guy where Peter ran down the whole list of shows that premiered and were cancelled while Family Guy was off the air, too funny, not much memorable in that list. When they get something good, they need to give it a chance. At least Arrested Development is still on.
