Absolutely beautiful city! I honestly didn't know that Ottawa had an observation tower and that the city was so large. Toronto seems to overshadow anything else in Canada for some reason so it's good to see and hear about other cities in Canada.

The observation deck is free. All you need to do is to go on a tour of the Centre Block of Parliament. The tower is the last stop on the hour-long tour.

Nice photos. I just love Canadian cities. For a nation that isn't supposedly all that patriotic, there are sure a lot of Canadian flags draped on a lot of buildings.

Two questions: First, what's the beautiful building in the center of the second photograph down from the top? Second, what's the buiding with the blobby top in the 9th and 10th photos down? It looks like a convention center of some type...

The small building with the Canadian flag is the Government Conference Centre. It used to be a railway station :

The blobby-topped building is the Museum of Civilization.

These photos were taken during the Canada Day weekend. That's why there were flags everywhere.
