Hilton Tempo/Homewood Suites dual brand hotel (17 stories/205', 300 total rooms, 165 capacity internal garage)

A 17 story/205' dual brand Hilton Tempo/Homewood Suites hotel will be built on .87 acre at 100 Spring St. by Skyline Hospitality.  This is east across Cowan St. from where they had perviously thought about a 15 story dual brand of Courtyard by Marriott/Fairfield Inn 3 years ago.  

Bounds and Gillespie will be the architectural firm. Civil Site Design Group is serving as engineer and landscape architect.

That’s great news. That area really needs some upgrading! If only Metro would run a street sweeper down Spring occasionally (or drivers would stop throwing their trash out the window, a Nashville specialty).

Great to see some height that far over! That'll tie in nicely with the Oracle office midrises and be a nice transition to the towers near the Stadium and Station East.

Also an interesting combo of hotel brands. Nice to see another Tempo hotel though, as that's a relatively new brand from Hilton.

Glad to see this back to life.

That curb cut at Spring Street is so frustrating though! Spring Street is already a cluster fuck there, so I can only hope that it is a protected, right in-right-out, but I have no faith that that will be the case. Cowan is going to be a very busy road and with the design of the East Bank Boulevard that goes all the way up to the Cleveland Street underpass, I know that will be a right in-right-out, unless the design of the street changes.

A permit has been issued that will allow for demolition of a small building located on the 0.87-acre site. Robinson Demolition LLC is handling the job.

A few new details:

- It will now be 300 rooms instead of 275.
- Architect firm Bounds & Gillespie is now known as BGKT Architects.
- There are 3 new renderings, but not sure which one is the final design.

The site is at the NE corner of Spring & Cowan. Same building for sure and different angles.

The side facing the interstate isn’t great, but this is a good start to this neighborhood.

They are building up to the property line with the presumption of those parcel fronting Dickerson will be developed, so it is to be expected that the interstate facade doesn't have alot to it. Those parcels will shoulder the vast majority of interstate facing design.

Gotcha! For some reason I thought this took up the full lot from Cowan to the interchange.
