Bought a couple of really nice silk shirts at Saks a few weeks ago. I so want to wear them because it's been really nice weather and is only getting nicer, but it appears that they smell more and more like crap the warmer it gets. Does anyone by chance know a quick sure fire method of getting the smell out of silk shirts? These were a bit pricey and I'd like to wear them rather than just have them hanging in my closet. I'm just a single guy who has know idea... :blink:

Best way I know to get rid of that smell is to have them dry-cleaned. It might also help if you get some kind of deodorizer for your closet.

I've heard doing it just once won't do it though. I guess I could point out exactly what I want (the smell out) and hopefully they'll know exactly how to do it.

I had that problem with silk shirts in the past too. From what I understand, they usually can't do much about any smells at the dry cleaners. Usually if a garment smells, that smell kind of gets "baked in" when it's dry cleaned. We used to go to Providence cleaners on the corner of Providence and Sharon Amity and they helped with a smell once. It's definitely worth it to ask the dry cleaners if there's anything they can do about the smell.
