Random question.....what happened to the trees along Armistice Blvd? There were trees there weren't there? I swear I remember it having trees in the strip lining the middle, nice trees that made the street look more pleasant....then I came back from being out of the country for a bit and now I'm wondering if I'm crazy and there were never trees there in the first place. It is suspicious that there are empty squares of dirt along the middle strip though...... Why in the name of chaos would the city remove these trees!? Does Pawtucket not look industrial enough as it is?

I attended the train meeting on Tuesday and learned that there are way more steps to getting such a project going than I imagined. The speaker appeared genuinely enthusiastic about the project, as did those in attendance, and much of what he said made the project seem fairly plausible. That's the good news - the bad news is that even if everything goes swimmingly it is going to be a long time before we are jumping on the train to Boston and/or Providence from downtown Pawtucket. I believe the estimate was between 5-7 years.
In the meantime, it would be cool if the city would come up with more efficient means to get people to the South Attleboro station which is really just over the Pawtucket border. I'd really love to see a bike path leading to it, but I am prone to fantasy.

I'm not much of a bar person, but a new place for eating just opened recently. It's an offshoot of Crazy Burger in Narragansett called the Mad House Cafe. It's right down by the river in the old Apex building. I think they may have a bar too (at least they had lots of liquor bottles
Hope you like Darlington - it's a bit quiet if you've moved from Providence, but sometimes that can be a plus.

Thank you! Sorry to hear the trees were sickly, but I'm happy to hear there may be new trees planted. They did make the blvd. look spiffier.
