It will interesting to see if the anti-growth forces are as against development in Fayetteville West as they are in central part of town. The growth on the west side of I540 is an example of the sprawl that the city is trying to avoid, not infill and redevelopment of the inner city.

That new area will need to be self-sufficent as there isn't adequate access over I540 for it not to be. Wedington and Hwy 62 are already congested and Porter Road is becoming that way. If you add 10,000 more people to those roads it will be a traffic gridlock.

Have you looked at the Park West project out on 112 next to the new Sam's?
