I haven't been able to get the PDF to open. Thanks for finding it at least.
And this is something that I think all artists should know, but Regina said that she loves playing in Detroit because the crowds always have such a great atmosphere.

BuildingsofDetroit has some photos in his Flickr album:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/snweb/231480851/
I asked him if he knew what was going on with it, and he said one of the work crew told him they were turning it into a "parlor". (???)
So, we'll see what becomes of it.

Shiny new pavement on the nearly completed road construction work on "The Mixing Bowl" in Southfield, Michigan.
This area is the I-696, M-10 Lodge and Northwestern Highway interchange.
I read in news articles that this area has an average traffic count of over 400,000 vehicles per day. Needless to say there are a lot of happy people now that it's near completion.

If the weather's nice there's the Heidelberg Project.

...You could easily get 25 units with views....
Hi, Hudkina:
Your photos aren't showing for me. I tried copying and pasting the photo web address from the picture properties, but that doesn't work either.

the ren cen im pretty sure has an all glass elevator.
They have several glass elevators. I used to ride them a couple of times a day when I worked there.

i saw this show on the history channel today about moving buildings, and they showed how they moved the gem theater. it was pretty cool. It was actually a world record for a while. Anybody else see that show before?
My company had a meeting one time at the Gem and Century Theatres a few years back. We got a tour and saw a film on how they moved it.
They have a video about the move here: Gem & Century Theatre Web Site

It kinda looks like the the two people on the left with their heads bent downward are praying...must be why the Tigers are doing so well this year...they got some help on their side.

Alexandrine & Second, Midtown...
Beautiful colors and textures, great picture!

I'm listening to the beautiful hum of my computer.....it was gone for 2 weeks being repaired.

Book Tower...
Zissou your photo above^ here reminds me of the movie "Ghostbusters"...I'm expecting the Sta-Puf marshmallow man to be in the background.

...This is kinda stupid, it's been 31 years...I would think there are more important things to worry about. Not because I'm cold hearted, but because I think the media could be looking at more important things.
I think that Hoffa's family would like closure; so if they can solve this finally, I'd be happy for them.

Swamp Rabbit? Is that the official name of the bridge?

Hi, I wanted to point you to this post I made today in the in the Detroit Photo of the Day Subforum
I didn't take this photo but it's a beautiful HDR done by UrbanTiki on Flickr. I'm a huge fan of his work.

I didn't take this photo, but it's my absolute favorite one so far.
It is a HDR of the Detroit Riverfront from Windsor taken by UrbanTiki. He has it posted on his Flickr photo page here.
He title it, "HDetRoit".

Hey, Kid Rock's on CSI NY tonight (4/26/06). Awesome!
Per his web site: The plot summary: KR's limo driver is murdered in an alley before his onstage encore (KR sings "Bawitdaba"). Suspect No. 1?
You guessed it, and he's less than cooperative with Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) and Lindsay Monroe (Anna Belknap).

I need a way to get from Detroit Metro to Northville and then back again. What is the most economical way to do this? Anyone know of a reasonable car service? Is there a better way?
Metro Airport has all the car rental agencies on its property and all the big ones have shuttle buses from the terminals to their lots.
There is also Metro Cars 734-946-5700 - like a limo service, you would have to call to arrange pick up from the airport and delivery back.

Cool pics of the bridge, BarGirl. I've been meaning to photograph it, but only have a few photos from passing by it....
Thanks, I just snapped them with my cheap tiny camera that I keep in my purse while I was driving down Telegraph yesterday. One of these days, I'm going to rear end someone!

This is the Gateway Bridge
The state of Michigan calls this structure at I-94 and Telegraph in Taylor the Gateway Bridge. But Detroit Free Press readers chose Big Blue Blunder as its moniker through a reader poll conducted this week.
I personally thought it should be called the Blue Balls Bridge - see the football shapes...

It also featured the music of a local rap artist.
The woman who created those ads made it onto Crains List of Detroit area influential 20 somethings. This list was released this week, here's a link to her profile:

As far as the shootings go...I don't think it matters what city you're in or where you live...if immature "hot heads" are walking around with guns for no good reason, especially while partying and getting drunk, judgements get cloudy and stupid/tragic crap happens.
And with a gun, all it takes is a quick instant to lose your temper...and then it's too late, it can't be taken back. Life's not a video game, there's no reset button.
