  1. ^ Wow...quite interesting indeed for downtown Miami! Even though it might not be the right spot for a Wal-Mart to locate I thought it was quite arrogant of the Commission aide to make the statement he did:

And this, from a City Commission aide: ``Visualize a Wal-Mart customer in his pick-up truck, and family of four, driving past tuxedo-clad PAC center guests arriving simultaneously.''

  2. ^ Yes poonther, Sam's Club gas is usually less than Wal-Mart/Murphy...sometimes by a lot...other times by only by a little. I've never seen Wal-Mart/Murphy priced less than Sam's. This morning Sam's Club was up to $3.55, Murphy/Wal-Mart was $3.59, Gate was at $3.63 & Circle K was $3.65. Yesterday, COSTCO was at $3.54 but who knows what it could be up to today. I'll have to check but I think oil hit $124 a barrel earlier today so hang on folks!

Edited to correct oil pricing: Actually, Oil closed at $123.69 today to be exact.

  3. ^ I realize that Sam's & Costco are subsidized for their members & that Circle K & Gate are within 6 cents of one another (at the moment anyway)...I was just sharing my observations of the drastic differences in the price per gallon that people are paying for the same product at the various locations. :)

  4. ^ Driving around this morning I was amazed at the difference in the gas prices around town. In my brief travel I noticed that Sams Club was $3.44, Gate was $3.59, COSTCO was $3.51, & Circle K was $3.65...CRAZY!

  5. this information was from a store manager of a national store that's in the Tallahassee mall , and he said there corp office told him that sales will get better . because they contacted the corp office of the mall, and the mall told them that they were in final talks with bass pro shop , and it was pretty much a done deal. if this is true or not, that's what was told to me on 4/21/08

Ah...I see the UP Gods moved this post from yesterday over to our Malls thread for us. Thanks Guys! :)

  6. COSTCO Members, I haven't been over that way recently but what are the gas prices like over there?

I'm just curious as to why SAM's Club is keeping their gas @ $3.25 a gallon. Is it to compete against COSTCO? They said it was to celebrate their 25th anniversary but I'm not sure if that's all true. I'm not complaining though...especially when everywhere else is $3.44 - $3.55. It was $3.22 last week, then went to $3.25. The Sam's attendant told me this morning that that it would be going up today or tomorrow when the next fuel delivery was made. Anyway, just curious how it compares to COSTCO?

  7. Hey I laced up by platform shoes, slid into my bell bottoms and boogied on down to the Disco Mall this week.

    Ha! U R 2 Funny, poonther!

Did you have your open collar polyester shirt on also & your Grease or Bee Gees 8 track tape playing on your trip there? Ha! :)

  8. I'm not a member of the other site, so I'm not sure how much limited info. I am looking at there compared to what members see. My questions for members are: Can you as members discuss things over there like we can here? And most importantly, does that site, since we've been told it's not a competitive site, provide any links to this site....such as a just a simple standard link or in the discussion/info pages something that says "to discuss this project further, please go to urban planet Tally." That to me would be what a complimentary site would do (I put out the olive branch and provided a link to the new site in our IHOP thread) but a competitive site would make no mention of this site. Just curious, thanks!
  9. ^ FL, don't fret. You're doing a fantastic job and, I believe I speak for us all, we really appreciate your time and effort!!! I've seen quite a few new names that haven't posted anything yet. I also see quite a few lurkers that aren't registered. Like others have mentioned, I lurked for quite awhile before I ever registered and then still didn't post anything right away. Keep up the good work!

  10. Welcome to UP-Tallahassee SDarby!

You guys should contact Gander Mountain about locating in your mall....Lord knows you've got the space for one of their stores. When the new Gander Mountain opens in Jacksonville next week that will give them 3 stores in Florida. With as many sportsmen as there are here in North Florida, South Georgia and South Alabama they might just show some interest. At this point I wouldn't think you guys at Feldman would discount contacting anyone...no matter how crazy it might sound at first!

Again, Welcome! We look forward to your dialogue and we'll keep throwing ideas and questions out to you. ;)

  11. I noticed a sign at the old Food Lion on Monroe & Fred George announcing it as the new location of the Northwest Branch of the YMCA. This is great use of this empty space! Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I searched but couldn't find anything on it.

  12. The new KOHL'S signage is up on side of the the store on the Blairstone side. They were just starting on the Apalachee side this afternoon.

Edited to add: 9/5/07 - The signage is now up on the Apalachee Parkway side too.
