  1. What a splendid hotel! It does Atlanta alot of credit to have such an esteemed marque amongst it's finest list of lodging options. I am banking on the fact that next year Atlanta will have even more five star and diamond hotels in the books. The fit and finish of the property is devine. I thought the Mansion on Peachtree raised the bar...I give the slight edge here to the St Regis...although that is purely a personal node and not one against the MOP. In the last few weeks, I have stayed in the Ritz and the Intercontinental (you know, for little get aways from the children) and the service at those places were top notch. I imagine my stay in the MOP and the St Regis will exceed even these two properties.

There was a small right up in the AJC. I found these paragraphs interesting and a credit to the city.

I expect great things from this hotel. I know I will not be let down. BTW Kevin, great blog. I look at it often. You have definitely encouraged me to look more closely at highrise living...and that is no small feat. Keep up the splendid work.

Thanks so much! I have some good stuff to post this week, so stay tuned.

  2. Finally an update about The Residences at 3630 Peachtree!

Construction has reached floor 23 and the building is going to top out this coming November. Residents can expect to move in by Fall 2009.

Sales are set to begin this coming Fall. Next month the developer will be releasing more details about 3630's sophisticated residences, which will include: 121 one-, two- and three-bedroom residences and seven penthouses. Residences will be priced from the $600,000's.

The residences will feature spacious, open floorplans, hand selected custom finishes, large private balconies with stunning views of Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. World-class shopping, fine dining and Atlanta

  3. According to someone that attended the Selig event last night, no new information was revealed. There were a couple of presentations on 12th & Midtown's four phases and the vision for a Peachtree shopping district. Perhaps it was an event designed to attract residents or retail tenants or both.

In conversations with others this person did learn of interest from retailers such as Apple (which we all knew) and Saks but the uncertain economy has retailers being very cautious at the moment. Also Equinox, a high-end athletic club in NYC is looking to open a location at either 12th & Midtown or Campanile.

that was me - see my blog post on atlantaskyriseblog.com
