  1. I wonder when we will get to see a rendering of the redesign? Does anyone know if the same firm is designing this latest attempt to get Siggy of the ground. I think that it would be a much better fit and considering it's proposed location, look a little taller than 800ft. I as well, hope that it is a stunning design with a nice crown with dramatic lighting. I would still be happy with the old design of the spire. Something needs to break the lid off of the flat box we call the Nashville skyline. Has anyone seen Charlotte's lately? Wow!

  2. Where is exactly is the info coming from that the tower is 1,030 ft. vice 1,057FT ? I'm not too sure how accurate that article is because it even lists the wrong info for the current tallest which i believe is Library Tower in L.A. not the building that the article refers to.

  3. I don't think it's ever necessary to call him a liar, but questioning his pitch as you put it is a good thing to do. I would fully expect if the date once again comes and goes that people would point that out, and that is a fair thing to do as we track the progress of the development. That being said, what I don't understand is placing the word "dead" on a project when one target date is missed...We all know that the truth, whether making this project a certainty or causing it to be "dead" will come out at some point...

I totaly agree with you. I remember a while ago i was in the Philidelphia forum, people where so excited when the Comcast Center was beginnning construction. From the way most of the forumers comments sounded, they were alot like ours right now. Mostly they were saying things like "it's about time", or "after all the negative skeptism, it's finnaly happening". I guess that maybe such a large project like these do have setbacks because they are so complex, atleast one can only hope that this is what is going on with Siggy.

  4. I wonder if Tony was to make Siggy 65 floors instead of 70 if that could make a difference in the cost? I sure hope this tower is built, 65 or hell even 60 stories would be better than nothing at all.

  5. I just want to see what the final renderings are going to look like. I hope that they didn't "cheapen" the look of the tower just to cut costs.

    Gaushell, any answers??

  6. Don't know why, but for some reason the diagram of Signature Tower is no longer on SSP. Anyone know why?

Nevermind, I found it. For some reason it was not there when i typed in Nashville to search all building diagrams but after going back to try again it was there. :scared:

  7. That is not the final design. We are waiting for newest drawings to make revisions to the key illustrations. Probably a few weeks out.

So do you know, or can you say if the design of the building and/or crown has changed drastically or went back to it's original design? Also, will you be posting a new rendering of the building? Thanks again for oyur updates.

  8. There's a new 3/4 view rendering of the Rhythm/Music Row tower (at least I hadn't seen it) which shows a significant set back of the tower portion that I was not aware of. You can catch a brief glimpse of the rendering while the webpage loads, rhythmnashville. Or you can see it in an ad in the real estate section of today's City Paper.

I think it looks decent but does anyone have any idea what the two window-like sections flanking the central window over the main street-level entrance are? In the plan, it looks like it's clad in shutters but in the overhead rendering it looks like some brown marble-like surface or maybe jello-pudding.

It looks like they are murals or something to that effect.

  9. Here it is. I know this is pulled back pretty far but unless we update the animations we probably won't create any new close-ups.

I liked it more solid too, but understand the decision.

The day to day view angles are going to almost always be pretty far away and will probably make it tough to tell a difference - at least that is my opinion - except for those in helicopters, or with magic flying powers.... :-)

Not bad. The new crown is already starting to grow on me. I like the way that the holes in the fins portray the light. Is there still a lit beacon on the top?

  10. Not shorter. I think it is a few things that make it look different - as you say the stepping is a bit different, but this camera is highly zoomed so it flattens out everything.

It looks better to me from this angle which is a view from the symphony balcony.

Thanks, I think that I can live with that! :D God that looks stunning. I am stationed in Virginia Beach and currently there is a Westin condo tower under construction and I believe that it's going to be 35-38 stories. I drive by it everyday and they are at the 30th floor now. At the beginning of the summer there were no floors rising and now it's 30 stories! It just goes to show how quickly these projects can progress once started. I always look at it and admire all of you back home who will get to see Siggie rise. It's going to be cool to see happen.

  11. Actually the parking is all below grade. It contains meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurant, and on the alley side loading docks, etc.

Holes were added in fins of crown to cut down on wind resistance as well as cost. From any realistic views you will be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Did they shoten the crown or does it just appear that way? I think that it appears shorter because one of the succession of spikes was taken out. I counted four in the last design, the new design only has three. Maybe they can make use of the holes in the fins by adding white argon lights to accentuate the shape of the holes which would look nice at night..... In a Honk Kongish kind of way.

  12. It is different up to the 13th floor (where you see those wings), though not significantly. Just some refinements.

The brick section has actually changed slightly too, but it is so minor that we haven't updated that yet.

I really want to get rid of the cabanas sticking up in the image, but they want them in for now - they really won't be visible from the street anyway - oh well.

Ok, so I looked at pictures of the model of Siggie and I must say that I definately liked the old version of the crown better. The new one looks shorter and the beacon at the top appears to be cut in half. I'm not trying to be too picky, it's just my own opinion. Any reason for the change?

What about the crown? For some reason I cannot place the old rendering and the current rendering side by side to compare the changes. Could you do that? Thanks again.

  14. It looks pretty good - better than the previous low building. Looks more like an older building butted up against it. A dark maroon/red colored brick.

That looks awesome! Sorry, but I completely misread your original post. I thought that you said that the bottom half of Siggie was brick. I guess that I should read more carefully. I did notice though that the bottom portion of Siggie DOES look a little different or am I wrong? Also can you explain what they changed on the crown? Looks a little different. Thank's so much for the new rendering man I only wisht that I could get that in a nice picture size to hang on my wall!

  15. We posted a new dusk shot on the project website, but have not added the full building shot yet, which shows the entire building and the new design for the lower building - very different now - in fact it it brick.

Plan to post 3d floor plates next week if all goes well. Ted also asked me to put together a rendering of the new pool deck and amenities level floor, so we'll start on that early next week as well

BRICK??? Oh my, I can't imagine that looks good. What color is the brick and why such a drastic change? How is that going to contrast with the silver metal on the rest of thte building or is that going to change too? Man I hope that it doesn't ruin the look too much.

  16. I have noticed that we have not heard any response about all of this from Gaushell. It seems that anytime there is anything negative mentioned about the project that he posts an update to let us all know that all is well. He has been a little too quiet lately, I hope that we don't have anything to worry about.

  17. They were delayed because, as you can imagine, as they refine parts of the design, other items have to be tweaked. There was no use in putting up the additional plans only to have to repost a few weeks later. So we are waiting on the revised drawings.

About to post an interactive map of downtown showing surrounding amenities, etc. Waiting on final comments. Added a legal disclaimer on the Hotel Palomar page late last week.

I'm as anxious as you are - actually more so - so get more information posted.

Can't wait to show more on 1beale in Memphis as well, but that project is still awaiting some approvals from the city (sound familiar?).

Just the nature of these large projects - they take a lot of time.

Can you say exactly what part of the design that is being refined and "tweaked" ? Will it be anything drastic or just little details? Just curious.

  18. Should automatically run a script to start a viewer that shows them enlarged. Works in both Opera and IE from my house and at the office.

Please tell me what browser and platform. I'll look into it.

I got it to work. Thanks anyways

  19. I was wondering if anyone was able to view a larger version of the different renderings in the gallery section of the Signature website. All of the pictures are small and when I click on them nothing happens so I was wondering if that was just normal. I really want to get a better close up of the renderings.

  20. I have more confidence in this project than in anything "The Donald" plans too build down here. I mean, how thin can Trump spread himself on all these highrise projects? He seems to be planting a tower in every a major city.

Did I miss something somewhere? What is Donald Trump planning here?
