NEW ORLEANS -- About $16,000 worth of belongings was reported stolen from the home of the late Marquise Hill's mother while she was at the funeral for her son, a New England Patriots lineman who drowned last week, police said Wednesday.
No suspects have been identified in Saturday's burglary at the eastern New Orleans home of Sherry Hill, who told police that she left for her son's funeral at 10:45 a.m. and discovered the break-in when she returned around 5:45 p.m.

I dunno, but with all this young man reportedly did for NOLA and its storm victims during his lifetime, its really sad to see that same crowd turn around and steal from his own mother when she's attending his funeral.

The O-Line sucked when Carr first started, but didn't his last three years. On NFL Network, they did a segment on that:
Brian Baldinger said Schaub can read defenses. They showed some footage. He sees the middle of the field completes a pass between defenders. They had a play where BB said...watch Schaub he waits until the defenders turn their heads and takes off running...he's not a stiff like some had said . They showed a play where Schaub threw deep but I was typing. BB said the Falcons did not change their gameplan for Schaub .
He then said Carr struggled reading defenses. They showed Carr with two guys open in the middle of the field and didn't see them. He said you have to throw to get the lead and run to keep it and that the Texans need to do better at going deep...duh .
Rod Woodson and Lombardi ex Raider guy...said Carr needs time to regroup and get his eye level up...stop looking for the rush. They said he got in the bad habit of just looking for AJ.
They also said Carr was a turnover waiting to happen .

I doubt Buckhead will ever become a true urban area. I think people will always prefer to drive than walk in Buckhead.

Big news for the Falcons, and it may or may not be good (depending on how you look at it):
The way I see it, there are two ways to look at this:
1) This is good. With Mora gone, we can hire a new and hopefully better coach.
2) This is bad. If the team's gotten so bad that we have to fire a coach, what does this say about the team's future. Was it the team or was it Mora?
What are your thoughts?
And...Matt Schaub is now in Houston

The WNBA is one declining league. An example, pumping crowd noise through the speakers to make the stadium sound louder for TV.

The only thing that stands out with the Trump Tower is the Trump name itself. It looks like just any other football.

I think it will level off when Atlanta finally fills in.
As for the city, there are still so many surface parking lots in our city and room on the edges to grow the urban core that I can't imagine that our growth would be limited by land.
As far as the burbs go, there should be a huge slow down soon. Yes there is more farmland out there but not like it was in the past. The development in the burbs will probably slow down while they reinvent themselves and start converting industrial nowhere/anywhere boulevards such as Cobb Parkway, Riverdale Road, Memorial Drive and Jimmy Carter Blvd into more urbanized avenues.
Yep, the Los Angeles effect. The burbs will grow and grow, then sort of slow down. After that, the major boulevards in the suburbs become urban centers for that particular area.

Actually that is a bug that is producing those high numbers. The real number is around 450, I am working to resolve the bug causing the higher than normal user count.
I don't think UP was so much my brainchild as it was everyone else's brainchild. I have certainly had a hand (or the only hand) in the development and business side of it, but other users have had an equal hand in it such as Metro.m, Cotuit, Spartan, etc. We have a remarkable staff and userbase that I could not have asked any more of. I am user #1 but you will notice that Metro.m is user #3 which registered a couple of days after we launched SSA. I later appointed him as an administrator of the forums and he has done an exceptional job, as has all of the global moderators and moderators of all forums. Most of us came from SSP and SSC looking to create something a little more professional and without all of the drama.
UrbanPlanet.org is a subsidiary of UrbanPlanet Institute LLC, a company I created a couple of years ago as the result of our success here. We have been self-supportive since the company was created through advertisements and membership fees. In being so we are able to offer continuing upgrades and new features that may otherwise not be possible. I have at times contracted work out to custom developers to offer options not available on other forums such as individual RSS feeds for our forums/cities, development maps, etc. There are some really cool things coming up that I think in time will be extremely beneficial to all UrbanPlaneteers!
While we are a corporation it is still ran from a shack as you say. Our staff is dispersed around the globe so all of our functions are handled solely on the Internet. I actually started out hosting SSA on a little $20 hosting account and worked my way up through all the plans possible until it came time to lease hardware so we now lease the equipment required to run UrbanPlanet.org.

There shouldn't be anything in Houston's Galleria that Atlanta doesn't have.
Currently, Galleria has YSL, Dior, Fendi, Bvlgari, Swatch, Chanel, Emporio Armani
We don't.
Houston's Galleria has long been a shopping mecca since it first opened. Houston has gets more international visitors (especially from Mexico) who come down here to shop. A lot of the elite and rich Mexicans plan weekend trips down here just to go to the Galleria. The Galleria has been in Houston since 1960 and about 24 million people a year go there.
So, I don't really agree with the thread title. I don't think this area is the shopping empire of the South.

Reggie Bush showed me something yesterday that I have not seen, fight and toughness. For once in his short NFL career, he did not think too much, just reacted to what came to him. Reggie Bush is one hell of a reciever.

You know, I have had something to write about Reggie Bush for a long time. Here it is (I posted this at SaintsReport).
Reggie isn't putting up any numbers. No defensive cordinators are setting up their gameplan around him. Especially after is last record setting game of 11 rushes for -5 yards (hasn't been done in 25 years with a player over 10 rush attempts). Bush is LAST IN THE NFL in yds per carry. How long will he be a decoy for? It doesn't make sense.
Reggie Bush has 70 rushes for 212 yards. Thats a whopping 3.0 yards per carry. How many TDs? Zero. This is behind the exact same line that has let McCallister rush for over 4.7 yards per carry (and 4 TDs!). And don't say its because Bush isn't getting carries, because Deuece only has 26 more carries (over 7 games thats less than 4 per game more than Bush is getting).
Bush is a league leader in receptions, but his yards per reception is pretty embarassing. While catching 42 balls, he's only amassed 290 yards receiving. Compare this to Colston ( 33 receptions, 577 yards, 17.5 ypc, 6 tds) or Horn (30 receptions, 507 yards, 16.9 ypc, 3 tds) or even ANOTHER slot guy, Henderson (8 receptions, 107 yards, 13.8 ypc, 1 td) production on the same team. And how many receiving tds has Bush managed catching the ball 42 times? Again, 0...
He has also fumbled and lost the ball twice, despite ESPN crediting the last one to Brees. He has also thrown for an interception.
So in retrospect, Bush has rushed the ball 70 times, received the ball out of the slot 42 times, and amassed a total of 512 yards, with ZERO touchdowns. He's had the ball 112 times, and never scored...
People can claim all they want that defenses are keying on him, that he is a special athelete just waiting to bust out, that the Texans are stupid for passing on him, but the fact is none of that is true. After 8 weeks defenses would not be keying on him so much with no production. Defenses key on LT, LJ, Tiki all the time and they still put up huge numbers. Not Bush. Is he a special athelete? Yep, he's a great athlete. He just hasn't learned that his dancing and outside running won't work in the NFL, and even when he does, his style of running won't work between the tackles.

But honestly, he is not a decoy (you have to be effective for that), he is not a running back (he is horrible), but he is a decent reciever (tons of catches, but at the bottom of the league in yds per catch).
I also just realized this about Reggie Bush. His teammate running back, Deuce McAllister had 111 Attempts for 487 yards, with a 4.4 yard average. Long was 57 yards. Five touchdowns, four runs over 20 yards, and 26 first downs made
Reggie: 81 Attempts for 207 yards, with a 2.6 yard average. 0 touchdowns, no runs over 20 yards. Seven first downs made.
Again, I am only talking about rushing. Reggie's rushing yards are poor. His recieving stats are good, though. Let's compare Reggie with a rookie on another team. Wali Lundy, of the 2-6 Houston Texans has started three games, and played in four. He shares time with Samkon Gado. Here are his stats in four games:
Wali: 74 Attempts for 309 yards, with a 4.2 yard average. Long was 35 yards. Three additional runs for 20 yards or more. 18 first downs made.
In the end, 6-2 matters the most.
Reggie has done good for the citizens of New Orleans. I will give him that. He gave a "light" to the city. He has also gave many donations and participated and a lot of charity events in the Big Easy.

Algiers is part of New Orleans? I guess my dad was right. When a city gets really big then they just gobble there suburbs up.
Algiers has some good clothes. Wow, 800 feet!! Amazing. That thing is a beauty, too. Is this the tallest in N.O. now?

Well actually, the Atlanta forums have been more into the Mandarin than anything else. The Mandarin would be much better than Trump. There are rumors of them building else where intown as well (not the Midtown location).
