Photo update from today showing the "cut" in the Division Ave hill:
It's hard to imagine that the front of the Western tower will face Division right here
Used to be you had a pretty good view if you lived on the hill atop that painted 1826. Now folks will be looking at another building. AH yes....progress....

O'Tooles has it as well, and Margarita Grill I'm 98% sure had it, and may still...
Oh yeah O'Tooles!! I forgot cuz I haven't been there in a while.
Thanks

This should be probably posted under favorite beer but thanks Veronica, I have some Smtihwicks in the fridge but it tastes so much better on tap. Besides, Fenian's Irish Pub, where else in GR metro do they serve Smithwicks on tap?
I only know of Black Rose and Flanigans.

DUH...
I think it's time for me to go home and pop open a Smithwicks. Thanks dude!

I got a picture of the building that Founders is moving to this morning:

I believe they plan to tear down the areas to the far right in the photo.
Where is this located?

I read an interesting article in Time this morning about street art. This link is what they have on their website. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this in GR?
Also, they suggest http://www.flickr.com to find the latest examples.
Wow thanks! I clicked on the Time button and perused the best voted websites and stuck a few in my favorites to look at later. Cool.

Supposedly a more family friendly place (hopefully not as stuffy). I know the Campagnia on E. Beltline owned by Bistro Bella Vita has closed and is now going to be El Burrito Loco. And we know that a new McFaddens is opening in the Waldron Building downtown, and the Post Bar is opening a new location on Grandville. I found this on McFaddens (mainly on the East Coast now). I am assuming it is the same place:
Where's the Waldron building ??

Welcome BTW! Just find us today?
Yes thank you! I posted an inquiry earlier about the stuff going on at 55 Campau NW cuz I work there.

You liked that Veronica? Gary, I think the park is just on top of the parking ramp (which is going to stay there). I would venture to say they are going to do some major renovations to the parking ramp, because it is pretty old. You're right, there is time to get the message into some thick skulls about this.
Does anybody know who draws these? Maybe that guy can tell us!

I was able to enhance the image to get a closeup of the people by the wall in the artist's rendering:

Show people a flashy tower and hopefully they won't notice the ground level. "Move along folks, there's nothing to see here, go back in your homes!"
The blank walls will probably be saved for plaques and name plates of big money donors. "This wall donated by(insert rich person's name here)"

Sorry I just saw this thread today....Haven't been on for a while. I went to the McFaddens grand opening and was not all that impressed. They did have Smithwicks though, so that made the waiting for snacks bareable, I thought the juggling leprecan(sp) dude was a bit much, but then after the DJ started blasting tunes it seemed to turn into your usual meat market kind of bar. By the way, he needs to check his mix...the bass was way over and I couldn't hear the tune at all. I'm sure there are plenty of people who love that kind of atmosphere, and that's cool...just not for me. Perhaps I'll go back for an actual dinner to give it another try. I wonder how they are going to do with Black Rose just down the street??
