  1. I'm so sorry Lexy! I realized that I hadn't credited you after I had left the coffee house. I live in the Belmont area and don't have internet at my place so I just walk to Bongo Java and use theirs! I'm just now able to get back and credit you! Again, I'm sorry. The original photo was taken by Lexy everybody! As for the other questions...

And if you borrowed the Sig illustration, that company might appreciate it too.

What did ya'll think of our 30 second commercial?

  2. Went to the Sig website and the interactive floorplan section has a weird message in the reservation box.

"Warning: send_alert(../vlib/vlibMimeMail.php) [function.send-alert]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/exper6/public_html/signature/getXMLPricing.php on line 81"

I'm not sure what that message means other than that part of the site is down for maintenance. Hopefully it means he will list actual sales.

Correct it was a temporary maintenance server error.

  3. Has Tony decided on the final design of the Crown of the tower? The last time I've talked to him he said he was still working out the final details of the crown of Sig. He sound like he was undecided on the final crown design. (I could be wrong ) Does anyone know the facts on this?

Pic of the Building's current design: Sig Tower pic

I keep forgetting how massive this tower will be.

That is not the final design. We are waiting for newest drawings to make revisions to the key illustrations. Probably a few weeks out.

  4. Thing is...we just don't know. What Tony has said could be true...it just hasn't all come to the end game yet. If he doesn't have that 4th of July groundbreaking, I will become very, very skeptical. Until then, I'll still hold out hope.

By the way...the fact that Gaushell doesn't post here anymore scares me a bit.

LOL. I haven't been posting because it isn't worth the headache of tracking responses and quite frankly I'm too busy working on other projects. We are still involved in the project and continue to work on various marketing and design items. In fact, we are currently working on lobby illustrations of the hotel portion.

  5. I aree. Someone from up there should fill in the blanks. This thread is dead.

It is a really nice space, if I don't say so myself. Sorry that the pictures aren't that great though.

I failed to take a picture of the bathroom. Note that a few display items and wall titles are not posted in these shots which were taken prior to the grand opening last week.

  6. Actually before you get too worked up over that article realize that it is a stock piece that really gives no new information at all about this project. Given there are no building permits, no announcements, not even a sales office sitting in a rental trailer somewhere, I would say the speculation this thing is getting ready to break ground is not warranted.

Lets stick to the facts that we know about considering that time and time again we have had people make posts in this thread who "just knew" it was going to happen all which have turned out to be incorrect. Here we are 1 year later since this thread was started, and all we still have is just a fancy website, some newspaper articles, and a lot of speculation that TG is a superman when it comes to rousting up money for an unreasonably high skyscraper.

We will just have to wait and see.

Sales office is opening next week. We had final display boards delivered yesterday.

  7. I just visited the ST website, and I have a question. Was the crown changed again? First it started with 4 levels of spikes, then it was 3, and now the logo has two levels of spikes and then the spire. I hope that's not how it is, because I it just doesn't look nearly as good.

Yes, it changed several months ago.

It's going to be on the 11th Floor of the Suntrust Bank Bldg and was under construction back in January when Richard Lawson wrote this article. He stated it was scheduled to open on March 1st in the article. I wonder if Richard has any more updated information on this?

    Signature Tower

I know that the interactive components and renderings are ready to show. There was a lot to do to prepare the space, so the opening has slightly pushed. Can't tell you when, but I suspect any day now.

  8. Wow, there are some great renderings there. I love the night one fromt the east bank. Its AWESOME! Great job Gaushell. And thanks for the link chris.

Thanks. We are working on sales center related items now.

  9. I find it so interesting that the city does not continue at all on the other side of the river. Most river cities, even those bordering states, have some representation on the opposite bank of the river.

West Memphis if I'm not mistaken is almost 8 miles away. The problem is those fields are flood plains - and they flood frequently. No feasible way to build there. It actually makes for great views from downtown. It is really cool to watch the storms roll across Arkansas into Memphis from there.

  10. Gaushell! Long time no see. I saw that your team wasn't involved with the interior renderings on the site, but do you know anything about them?

And is that a new avatar? I like it. Why does the crown look gold?

We did all of the renderings except for the bottom three.

Those three interior renderings of the lobby area, etc. were created by the interior design team as part of their services. We are working on a new shot of the pool deck right now - it is really nice up there. Has changed significantly from the video.

Crown looks a bit gold in that small avatar because of the "gold" light. It is a rendering I created for the cover of Pinnacle Magazine. sig-pinn.png

  11. I sure thought we'd have heard from Gaushell or someone by now about the status of this project's sales center. If they haven't started construction yet it's very unlikely that they could get everything done and open earlier than March. Given the depth of market concerns about Nashville I'm surprised Girantanna is willing to conceed Alex Palmer so much of a head start to begin selling product.

I'm hiding.....LOL. It has been more fun just sitting back and reading.

I don't have any info. on the opening date.

  12. Does it really make any sense to build a 70 story tower with a 2 story entrance? Don't mistake me, I love the brick and all, but.....2 floors ...and a 70 floor tower!? One of the tallest in the U.S.....conjoined to a 2 story entrance. We claim there is a need for tall buildings in the core, but we can spare a half block for a 2 level pool/restaurant!?

Hi Nashvillwill - maybe I confused things with my written description. Will release plans soon. Had to get some other drawings in their hands first though.

The brick portion is the same height as the previous one.

The only entry into the brick building is for the restaurant. Hotel enters in main doors on tower on Fifth and condo main entry is on Church.

The parking enters in the alley on the south and is all under the entire footprint.

    Hope that helps clarify.

  13. There's already a Walgreen's in the downtown area. ;) Not far from the site. And A tower like Signature probably won't have that kind of retail, More upscale most likely.

Thus the Huddle House suggestion...... :yahoo:

Okay - sorry. that is not good info.......I do believe that the amenity level plans that go live soon will clear several things up. The two corners that front on Church ar the retail spaces along with the main lobby to the condos.

Lobby to hotel is on 5th. At that same level are meeting rooms, business center and ballroom.

Restaurant main entry is also on 5th, but in the brick part of the building - which places the door down a level from the main lobbies. Under the main tower on this level are various services spaces.

Main amenity level has pool deck, fitness, theater, bar, club room spa, etc.

  14. Maybe it's just me but I long for the days when ribbon cuttings/groundbreakings were meaningful events signifiying the genuine start of projects rather than ubiquitous pr stunts used to drum up buyer interest and buy time to sort through development challenges. Anyone remember when what spring month the Terrazo groundbreaking took place ?

I wouldn't count on ground breaking in January just yet. But you should count on the sales center opening then.

Only 17,000 square feet of retail space? I might have my numbers off, so correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldnt' that be about enough space for one walgreen's, and nothing else?

We should be posting the amenity levels within the next several days - at least that is the plan if we don't get side tracked dealing with other items. Walgreens? Gross....LOL

  15. What colors will the materials look like at a distance? How about up close? Will it be sort of blue like the building appears in some of the renderings or more brownish beige? One of my concerns with this building is that it may be too similar in color to a number of other downtown Nashville buildings. I think Nashville's towers need more colorful towers and less beige/gray/concrete.

slight bluish tint to reflective glass...silver metal....thus a lot of reflecting.........base has dark red brick and stone trim on amenity blgb........main base has dark gray and light gray granite.....glass at lower twelve levels is slightly more transparent........

let me know if that is too vague

  16. So is this the official and final design of the tower? I wish Tony could keep the last crown design to me it looked better but I understand the winds at that height could be very strong.

And it looks like the color of the crown has changed to. I hope Tony keeps it the metallic color like the previous design, It was very cool.

Color has not changed. It just looks different in different lighting and sky conditions.

  17. Here are two. Both are pulled back to more typical view angles - versus that full height shot that has a super zoomed lens and is impossible to ever see that way. Unless we update the animations we probably won't create any new close-ups of the crown.

I liked it more solid too, but understand the decision.

The day to day view angles are going to almost always be pretty far away and will probably make it tough to tell a difference - at least that is my opinion - except for those in helicopters, or with magic flying powers.... :-)

  18. Did they shoten the crown or does it just appear that way? I think that it appears shorter because one of the succession of spikes was taken out. I counted four in the last design, the new design only has three. Maybe they can make use of the holes in the fins by adding white argon lights to accentuate the shape of the holes which would look nice at night..... In a Honk Kongish kind of way.

Not shorter. I think it is a few things that make it look different - as you say the stepping is a bit different, but this camera is highly zoomed so it flattens out everything.

It looks better to me from this angle which is a view from the symphony balcony.

  19. Is the "lower building" the parking garage? Anywhoosle, it looks great clad in brick, very classy. It really play's off the Ryman now. The bottom of the Siggy still looks like Magneto's Nashville HQ, though. It's really great that on top of all the corporate relocations that Greater Nashville is privy to, the X-Men's greatest foe decided to relocate here as well. The perforations in the crown are new, correct? I like them, muy mucho.

Actually the parking is all below grade. It contains meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurant, and on the alley side loading docks, etc.

Holes were added in fins of crown to cut down on wind resistance as well as cost. From any realistic views you will be hard pressed to tell the difference.
