I like the design a lot and think the location is great.  I would love to live in that building (probably couldn't afford it).  It is right on the Orlando Urban Trail, great views in all directions, close enough to downtown, but not having to be in it, and walking distance to Ivanhoe Village, also close to College Park.

I like both this and the Lake House building a lot.  Would be even better if there were a North Quarter area grocery store.

agreed. Put a trader joe's on the orlando sentinel site and i bet it would be packed 24/7.

It’s weird how it went from under construction to open in a day, along with loads of “now hiring” signs. Shouldn’t they have started hiring at least a month ago?

agreed.. isn't there a saying/rule to give a new restaurant like a month after it opens? This may be one that might need some time to figure it all out

Apparently the driver was trying to read the time on the clock and got blinded by the sun glared off the glass of the clock, causing the driver to crash into it. This is causing city leaders to consider adding a visor on the top of the clock to shade it from glare so they can rebuild the clock to modern Orlando safety standards.

Hahahaha that's great, thank god for visors!!

  4. Driving south(west) on i4 towards downtown this building looks great, it looks massive and its only at around 7 floors so far. Going to be a great a great addition to Advent city.

I think it depends on which day you're downtown. A couple of weeks ago I was contemplating coming to the forum to say how nice it is to see people out and about downtown again during the work week. Today, however, was more dead. There's people, don't get me wrong, but not as bustling as I've seen it recently.

South Eola is usually buzzing with people, no matter what day. There's always people around when you go outside and on the weekend, the crowd really picks up.

People definitely seem to be moving/living in the apartments around downtown, Camden Thornton Park raised our rent, so we looked elsewhere, but availability is pretty tight and pricing is skyrocketing.

Yea a lot of my friends who are in there early 20s live in either the Camden's, Citi tower, Modera or 55w. I think most of them really only stay around lake eola/thorton park unless they are going out at night or if they work in CBD. But I think now that radius, MAA Robinson and society are bringing more apartments in northern/central part of downtown there will be more action during the daytime in the CBD.

And imagine if the Orlando Sentinel site actually sees some 'relatively creative' development. Like a grocery store, park, housing or retail... pretty much anything other than what it is now. That could really help boost the downtown action during the day.

With the apartment development over the past few years, when you drive south on I-4, you its starting feel like you're entering downtown as you come up on the Massey building.  I think this project will really solidify that. I wonder if/when the Advent hotel will be built at Princeton and Orange.

Anyone have an article or summary of the proposed Advent hotel? I've never heard about it.
