It would be great optics and community engagement if the new development could incorporate the existing grassroots engagement on the property: namely facilities for an outdoor flea market and skatepark.
Might be utopian wishing, but seems do-able and worth considering.- 1

FYI - Coverage in today's paper re alternative to uptown pedestrian bridge connector "Called the Seventh Street to 10th Street segment, the project will close a gap in the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, the county’s portion of the city-county partnership, that lies between Seventh Street and Greenway Crescent Lane near 12th Street" Est completion: 2022
Maybe off topic, but this is a really cool route of quite a few greenways linked together by friendly roads.

I got an email from management of the new Asian Grocery going in at Paza/Eastway (the old Bi-Lo). He said they were aiming for a soft opening Feb 26.
