If you stay at the Thompson Hotel be prepared for a wake-up call from the W Hotel work site at 6AM - apparently, their work permit allows them to start that early - and brace yourself for the periodic explosions later which really shake the place! See the picture of the view from my room at the Thompson last week. Thanks Chris for the early renderings. Has anyone been able to demystify the final approved number of floors and height? I have read 12, 14, 16 and 20 stories mentioned in various published accounts. Anyone have tips for finding the final approved plans, permits and/or renderings? Thanks much!

Has anybody seen the final plans for the W Hotel with elevations, number of floors and ultimate height in feet when topped off? Are the plans available on any Metro website? Seems a complex work site with a steep slope and obvious bedrock. Will the number of floors be counted beginning on the lower side (towards 11th Avenue) Thanks!

Does anyone know whether that 2nd crane is at its max height at this point? I assume that it needs to stay lower than the 1rst crane which appears to not be extendable, and when the building is topped-off it will be at a level below the 2nd crane, correct? Thanks!
