From GVLToday: "The parking lot across from Yee-Haw Brewing Co. is for sale, listed at $15 million. The 2.27-acre parking lot on McBee Avenue is advertised as “one of the only large infill sites remaining in downtown Greenville’s central business district.” The city says it would like to see “significant density” on the site. Its just terrible that people are dying and particularly how their last moments have to be spent isolated from human touch.  I know someone that lost their father.  Glad mine is still around even though he's high risk due to his age and having COPD.   I am grateful for the measures that have been taken and the people that are taking them as they may be contributing to me getting to spend more time with him.  I am not sure what inspires people to devalue human life in times like these.  The worse things get, the more I realize time with my dad, my wife, and my kids is more valuable than anything else.

Glad your father has remained safe! Times like this definitely put things into perspective and reminds us of what is truly important.

I noticed the other day as I walked past the BB&T building little white paint marks all the way up the side of the building. I wondered if it had to do with the mural and now I think that it does.

Greenville residents will see van Helton’s mural unfold day-by-day beginning in March, 2020. While an enormous amount of planning is required for a work of art on this scale, the painting will be completed in only a few weeks. One of the most intriguing and exciting aspects of van Helton’s work is that much like graffiti, the subject of the painting is known only to the artist prior to the installation, and is revealed to the world day-by-day as he works.

Doesn't it have to be approved by the City?

The existing building will be preserved and a second floor added over most of the building.  The new floor will have a vaulted roof.  The second floor will have permanent seating facing the stage. They are looking to fill the 'House of Blues' type venue niche here in Greenville.  Planning for May DRB meeting.

Are there any renderings online that you know of?

There's rumors all over the internet that the government is preparing for and planning a domestic travel ban within the next 48-72 hours.

I kept getting these texts from various sources about the national quarantine. It seemed a little fishy to me with how many copy/paste messages I got, so I googled it. The news reports are saying that it's a hoax.

I submitted an "Ask LaFluer" question a couple years ago about this building to the Greenville News. I was told that there were no plans to remodel the facade of this building and that this was the original design from the 1960's. It's such an eye sore imo. Hopefully it will be remodeled one day.
