It's a shame that none of these buildings (besides the obvious) survived.

^ Is that a Chevelle in the bottom right? Beautiful, whatever it is.
Looks like a 71' or 72' seeing that it has the single headlights.

^ Oof, we need some infill.
That should be kicked off very soon with the Embassy Suites/Curio project. It will dominate this view.

Well, I have been accused of being in "la- la land" before; however, I do believe it could be built to look great. Saying that no architect could make this look good is subjective and a bit incredulous. I guess I don't see how this is disrupting the look of Broadway when it's not even fronting the street itself, but that's my opinion. I admire your drive to preserve historical districts and I am all for that myself, but in this case, I don't believe this project is harming much. Just out of curiosity; If you were a developer with this exact plot, what would you build here?

Is that railroad track actually active??
There are a few industries that use that track. It's not used much but still active.

I agree Mark. If the design is done right it has the potential to really set off the Nashville skyline (looking east) and fade SoBro into Broadway.

That is quite odd that Nashville scores so low in college population--not sure what to think about that. Austin basically being zero is unexpected as well considering the University of Texas sports an enrollment of well over 50,000 on its own with Texas State (35,000 +) just 30 miles away.

Maybe they'll build it similar to the one in Chicago....

I believe they will go higher. If nothing else, the signage would be almost that high. The "JW Marriott" would look really crammed with less than 20' of space, I think they would need to have an offset from the top floor with an equal amount above it. In my opinion it will be somewhere between 30' - 40' higher than the large floor.

how much more impressive could this have been with some sort of spire or design.
I believe a crown similar to the SunTrust Plaza in Atlanta would have fit nicely with the design of 505. Definitely would have given it more height, depth, and presence.

Thanks for all the time and effort put it for this amazing list! Nashville is fast becoming a large and vibrant city that will be hardly recognizable from what it was just 10 years ago. Loving it!
