  1. One of the tenants will be...Skrimp Shack.  SKRIMP SHACK!!!

With homes in the area going north of $300K I'm surprised some better quality chains weren't interested.  I was hoping for an Earl's Grocery type but know the density probably isn't right.  Realistically was hoping for a Chipotle or another good fast-casual place.  Skrimp Shack isn't going to help the shopping center IMO.

No wonder the media is crap, the expectations have been dropped so low, that the above is considered normal.

A public agency CEO or his managers should be able to provide a concise reason for the need of the additional funds.

And a good contract will always take into account contractor incompetence, but a good contract does not allow contingency money to be spent on incompetence unless a contractor is being replaced.

In this case, the contractor at fault keeps getting more money thrown at them instead of being forced to be accountable!

I read every one! Have been waiting on this one!

But, I highly doubt it will answer ALL questions ... the previous ones did not.

Honestly, the real reason is that the contractor bid for this job when the economy was crap and now that it's booming it's worth it to them to put their resources elsewhere to increase profits.  If this job were bid today it would be much much more $$$.

Looks like Duke Energy is planning a 35 story office tower. Add this to the map!

"We did not file this document," said Neil Nissan, a spokesman for Duke Energy. "We had no knowledge a third-party group was filing this document. It was done without our approval. At this time, we have no definitive plans for this property."

Weird they would deny that right off the bat...I would love to see something very vertical go in there.  Great spot right across from convention center.

  4. Has anyone heard any rumblings of Hunter Wrecking Service moving?  That land (while I'm sure is an environmental nightmare with lots of cleanup) would be a primo spot for redevelopment.  It's such an eyesore right now that I feel it's single-handily weighing down potential in the immediate area.
