To be fair, Music City Bread does still appear on Google Maps lol.
I only ever went to Cabana once and the service was TERRIBLE! My wife had been prior to that had a relatively good experience (hence she wanted to go back). Last time we went there.
I guess they were just operating out of the kitchen there, perhaps? The restaurant portion seemed to have been closed for awhile.
Cabana was a big deal when it opened back in the mid-2000's but had seem to have run its course by around 2011 or so. There was a documentary-style TV show on like A&E or HGTV or something like that would document the build out and opening of one restaurant in each episode. Most of the restaurants were in Canada, but they did do an episode on Cabana....

I don't know what/when that was, but this is the former Cabana space, apparently still with what were once 13 "cabanas", which I guess are now "bungalows".....

C'mon man. Any mention of building an MLB ballpark in Murfreesboro or even WillCo just demonstrates what a farce all of this is.

I-24 between M'boro and Nashville lowers head in shame!
LOL, don't want to come down hard on 1-24! Just the distinction between how TDOT is treating this signage as a transit/traffic solution rather than a perfectly nice informational upgrade. ...

"New electronic overhead roadway signs are also planned to improve communication with drivers about the best terminal routes in real-time."
Looking forward to the very helpful message "Sorry bud, try walking from here."
These updated roadway signs that TDOT keeps peddling not as information, but as somehow a solution is so stupid....

In response to the Cumberland Yard plan, Bristol Motor Speedway issued the following statement to the Business Journal:
“Bristol Motor Speedway’s plan to preserve the historic Fairgrounds Speedway protects important elements of Nashville’s history..."
LOLOL. Bristol's proposal is to literally tear down the entire existing "historic" speedway and build a new one that is twice as large, and of course, not at all historic.

Noticed that the old/original Virago building on Division St. is under renovation, at least the half of the building that is not currently the Baked Bear ice cream shop.
Found a permit for "Nix Nightclub". Did some more digging and found this on CDP Architecture's site:

Agreed 1000%. It would have to be a total fake version of Arnold's, with bad, mass produced food, kind of like Hattie B's is a fake version of Prince's and Bolton's....

While I want the racetrack here. This is a huge win for the city and is the correct one in my opinion. The State has no business doing what it tried to do.

Possibly Riverfront Park? Public Square Park? Cumberland Park (between the pedestrian bridge and KVB)? Hopefully for the road race's sake their leadership has been in touch with Metro and the construction team.
The logical challenges will be significant on a day-to-day basis just with the sheer amount of construction equipment and workers. The construction is also why the IndyCar series has re-drawn their track to avoid the stadium land.
Seems like the marathon folks would need square footage more like the size of Bicentennial Mall to handle the event size.....

A spring 2024 start date is planned and pre-sales have begun for the 194 condos. These are 4 more units than previously listed. There will be 116 suite style hotel rooms (4 less than previously announced). Still 60,000 sq. ft. of office space.
Voce will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom condos priced starting in the $500,000s. Three-bedroom units will start at $1.5 million, with the building to offer up to nine penthouses. Owners will have the option to choose between three furnished designs if they opt into the hotel model.the Voce rooftop deck will boast a 4,000-square-foot restaurant/bar adjacent to a pool, with the deck to offer views of Nashville’s downtown and Midtown skylines. The Voce restaurant will provide à la carte food and beverage service to both hotel guests and residents.
Other amenities will include a fitness center, full-time concierge services, golf simulator lounge, bike storage and shop, co-working spaces with conference rooms, designated parking spaces, valet service, package delivery and pick-up center, rideshare portico and 2,500-square-foot outdoor dog park.
In addition, Voce will include 2,600 square feet of covered terraces placed throughout each of the two office floors, about 11,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial retail space and 700 covered parking spaces.

700 parking spaces seems really excessive?

16 hours ago, Baronakim said:I hope it has some street presence. Having the shops and such hidden behind that bleak street facade and only opening out on the lake was always a disaster for tenants as few folks knew they were back there. The concept IMO has always been a dismal failure.
Yeah, the struggle is there are a couple long stretches on the Metro Center side where there are cinderblock walls housing the dumpsters and utility boxes, etc., limiting the activation opportunities. Don't know how to fix it, maybe get creative in the parking lot? I do wonder with the arrival of a significant apartment presence actually in Metro Center whether that could change the fortunes over here. There is certainly now some population demand for a sense of "neighborhood" services....

I think there area any number of reasons why this could've been overlooked. Maybe it was a rush job, maybe it was a third party rendering and there wasn't time for a double check.
Always got to keep in mind that artist renderings area almost never going to be 100% correct.
FWIW, I see cars trying to take a right here onto 16th from Grand every few weeks.... Credit to the artist for the hyper realism as far as I'm concerned....

Still rooting for this one to open before the hotel on 17th, which has taken about two years longer and has one of the most egregiously long street closures ever.
