Still too much asphalt in that picture.... We can hope though, right??!!
We believe it, when we see it!

Everyone, but you...
I knew!

Is everyone invited? I joined the forum just couple months ago and also I am new to Charlotte. Would be nice to meet new people, especially having same interests.
-
well, if they were to attempt it, they would be greatly disappointed by the barbed wire fences that surround the train yard.
Why bothering putting a pedestrian bridge, when you can start ticketing people for crossing rails?
-
I hope they don't screw this up, but I really hope big big big things are coming for N Tryon.
One more $700,000 study? I would like to see less studies and more action. Will these studies translate into something feasible? Or will it become just a set of recommendations that will be later screwed up?

There was a discussion on WFAE today about transit alternatives and generation on millennial wanting to live in urban and walkable areas.
If anyone wants to listen, here is a link - http://wfae.org/post/not-my-backyard
I believe audio will be posted around 3 pm.

Anyway, let's hope for the best. We need this building and park in Uptown. Especially because park will sparkle more development around it.

^In the First World, it's primarily an American issue. I rarely see homeless people on the streets of London, Manchester, Frankfurt, or Hamburg. And I have NEVER seen any person with a sign asking for money at a freeway off/on ramp or at a traffic signal while traveling in Europe.
It sounds like you never been to Europe

I think it's a cool concept but I still like light rail. The idea has been around for at least a decade now and for various reasons it doesn't seem to be anything more than a idea.
I was just kidding

Screw light rail, we need skyTran! http://www.skytran.us/intro/ )

Everything is relative. Prior coming to Charlotte I lived and worked in Chicago downtown for two years. And frankly I was sick and tired of homeless people begging on every corner and some of them even demanding money from me. I understand that it is a huge issue and visibility of homeless people is required for people to take action. But at some point it is too much and some people just don't want to do anything to improve their life.
In Charlotte there is much less opportunities for work and entertainment, but I appreciate how clean it is. I don't mind seeing couple homeless people in the Uptown center sitting on benches.

Is it possible to contact Levine's company and ask them why they are delaying First Ward project?
-
Anyone hear rumors from workers there what is going on?
I have no opinion about their HQ building but I really hate this one
Is looks like it hosts technical equipment or servers, I guess it would never go away or be remodeled.

Regarding conversation about UCity, I hope at some point city will start retrofitting to a more urban development, something like this - http://www.gfycat.com/LatePepperyHapuka

The Good News Report

Based on the report they aquired Titan technology partners http://www.ttpartners.com/ and they have their own cloud based products. So it looks like they are a product company, rather than a service company.
