I remember when this was the official design. The atrium was a hot topic.
Back then it was going to have a city-funded thousand-room hotel with water slides too.

That is correct. Because I am not an authoritarian. I would never presume to dictate to a business owner whom to hire and whom to fire. I advocate for liberty.
Yes. The liberty to not have access to the same goods and services because of your skin color, your gender, what you do in your bedroom, or what you believe in.

As someone who follows this team probably a little too closely, really is hilarious how Cam does 2 press conferences a week from preseason through the playoffs, and out of 30-60 minutes of content, it's always that one click-baity quote that gets talked about by the same people... every week. If there is one thing we all can honestly agree on, Cam is not always great at dictating his responses, and often uses words incorrectly. Honestly, after the zoo that is Media Day and all the traps laid for him, it's actually suprising that anyone has to reach this much just to say something negative. He's damn good at his job and makes the game more entertaining to watch as the multi-billion dollar traveling show it is. Rice, Peterson, Hardy, Plaxico, Hernandez, Henry, Pac-Man, Carruth... Yeah, but Cam celebrates first downs?!?!? Josh Gordon and Johnny Football also don't take the heat this guy does from the national media.

The Panthers' 2016-2017 opponents (but not schedule) has been posted. Yet again we are playing Seattle. That marks the fifth consecutive season (not including pre/post-season) after having only played them five times since the realignment previously. I'm getting the feeling that the NFL is trying to force a non-division rivalry.
Granted, I realize that it was the Panthers' turn to play the NFC West anyway. It's still pretty interesting that they keep meeting lately. Too bad the Panthers are only 2-8 all-time against the Seahawks including this years win. Facing the 12th man again... Man. Even at the Georgia Dome (where half in attendance had blue & black on) it was incredibly loud compared to BOA stadium. We need to find a way to get our fans into the games when it matters most.
Away games vs Oakland, Denver, Seattle, & St Louis/LA all mean long flights for the Panthers, here's hoping we win the Super Bowl and the bandwagon stays strong.

Just a note: the schedules aren't "picked" by anyone. Every year our non-divisional NFC opponents are 4 teams from 1 other division (rotating) and 1 team from both of the remaining divisions who finished where we did in the NFC South. We've been playing Seattle every year because we keep winning our respective divisions, the same reason we will play the NFC West, Minnesota and Washington next year.

I was able to see renderings for the rebuilt Memorial Stadium from a friend in the Independence organization. Very little of the original stadium is preserved but if the plan is carried out as I saw it I have no issue with a new stadium.
I have some of the renderings but I have been asked not to post them yet as negotiations with the county are ongoing therefore I will describe the plans the best I can:
The first USL phase is essentially the lower bowl of the new stadium. I was told 2017 is the year they hope to move to Memorial.
The MLS stadium plans call for the bridging of Charlottetowne and Kings Drive to create plazas on either end. The Grady Cole center would be demolished. The road that currently encircles the stadium would be closed. An extension of the greenway would run along the northern edge of the stadium connecting Little Sugar Creek to Independence Park and utilize the new underpasses.
The stadium itself is a full lower bowl and an upper bowl which encircles 3/4 of the stadium with a overhang providing weather protection. The one end without the upper bowl opens up with a view of Uptown. The location and design along with the view of Uptown would make this one of the best stadiums in the MLS if it ever (hopefully) comes to fruition.
That sounds like everything I was hoping for! Thank you for the new info. I can't wait to see this thing for myself.

Panther's pailgate.party tomorrow about 10:45 out side Atlanta stadium. Will be here.
I assume right next to the aptly named Falcons failgate party.

18 Panthers are in the top 10 for their respective positions in voting for the 2016 Pro Bowl. Davis, Kuechly, Norman, and Kalil are all in first place. Olsen, Tolbert, and Webb are all in second place. Cam is currently sitting in sixth amongst QB's. The rest cover third through tenth. Pretty impressive. We could be looking at a Panther-heavy game.
edit: This is where things were as of yesterday. Obviously today could be different.
Not to rehash the Cam convo, but Cam's actually 6th overall, not just QBs. I'd imagine he's top 3 in QB votes.

If Cam Newton completed 75% of his passes in this offense, he still may not be in the top 5 in the league. Shula runs a ball control offense designed to keep our defense rested for the end of the game. Cams first year in the league with Chud as our OC, Cam's numbers were awesome, but we were also getting destroyed late in games. Football isn't about how many yards you can throw for in a game, and MVP doesn't mean player with the best stats. I honestly feel like anyone who watches should be able to see these things. I don't know about any of you, but I like our system and it will never produce monster passing numbers over any span of games. Thankfully the people who make that decision don't just look at a stat sheet or fantasy numbers to determine player worth.
Even pointing out his three interceptions as a stat to discredit him doesn't make sense. The first "interception" was a perfect pass that Ted Ginn had ripped from his arms on the way to the ground and if I'm not mistaken, another was popped up in the air off of Corey Brown's hands on a crossing route.

Not being in the top 10 quarterbacks makes one mediocre at best. A quarterback is normally best at throwing the football, not running. His team carries him and even mediocre quarterbacks have exceptionally good days and get a few good throws once in a while. Just because I see him differently doesn't make me a "troller." I hope his skills in the last quarter of the last team will prevail.
How many other mediocre quarterbacks are being discussed as an MVP candidate 7 weeks into the season?

This is a dream world away from Charlotte right now, but...

LOL! I Had gotten home from a work event, was supposed to do some freelance, was kinda tipsy, and photoshop was just calling to me :-)
Baby RDF should be strategically placed in your future building and skyline renderings as an identifier. No need to ever use a watermark.

FACT: The Charlotte 49ers have the highest winning percentage of any FBS team in the nation. I have at least a week to brag about this to friends and coworkers.
EDIT: Best all time*

Perhaps so. Because you are equating people driving on a road that is intended for cars and travel with "jumping the tracks". A better analogy would be those people in Monroe deciding to turn off the road and cut through a field to get somewhere they didn't want to drive a little further on the road to get to. In that instance they would and SHOULD get a ticket. It's as if people should, I dunno, follow the prescribed pathways and not decide they can do whatever they please and expect the city to immediately prioritize their wants.
I think the point is not to justify the action, but be proactive in execution. It's not smart to hop the fence, but it begins to seem like the better choice when you're in your 20s and can avoid walking a mile to get to a location 30 feet away.

Don't worry, not enough people going to that game to tax the cell towers.
It would be nice if these city free-rent days at BofA would be priced to fill the stadium and get as many people into uptown as possible. I know, sorry wrong thread.

If the mall has a large open-air atrium, a bridge linking the two buildings could be cool.

Lol who's gonna render in all the background cranes for the upcoming Stonewall projects?

Does anyone else not like the design on the retaining walls? There is something about the way one of the flowers looks on the wall that creeps me out and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The flower in the top bottom left.
