As a pedestrian I am ashamed that anyone in this city would think this is okay to do. There was a girls soccer game at Pearl St Park. I wish I had a ticket pad I could have busted at least 6 doing this. The city needs to not allow this to happen.
These people would call the cops on me if I ever parked like that on their curb in their neighborhood which I am guessing from the cars and vehicles I saw is quite nice and nearby too.
It gets even worse sometimes. I've seen people just straight up parking in the bike lane blocking the entire path.

Some Gold District shots today. The Prospect by Spectrum looks great corner retail spot available with patio. Lots of new residents in this area and they probably need a little store for basics. So many new apartment complexes. 2 under construction including the high rise along Morehead and 2 finishing up the Prospect and Grubb's apartment building. Somewhere there needs to be an urban QuikTrip or 7-11.
This facade looks worse the longer I look at it.

Multiple mid rise apartments and one office building on South Blvd. Never seen these on Foster Ave. (2nd and 3rd photos) They seemingly popped up there. Dont know the developer or unit count either. And the The Jane condos at New Bern Ave. https://www.thejanesouthend.com/ (I think they are sold out)
In the second picture, what is that white building?

I'll always find it funny that there is no access to the river from the little town center in the masterplan. Imagine showing up to check out the new River District, and there is no water in sight.

There is no way those are final renderings from an architecture firm, they have to be early conceptual renderings that were discarded due to be so ugly...........right?

The masterplan is a lot more suburban then I would like to see in downtown

Looks like the "final" version is different than any other version for the taller tower. Not quite as unique as the initial version, but better than the subsequent 2 versions we've seen IMO.
Wow, looks like Morehead is going to be completely transformed into a canyon of 10 story buildings

Updated conceptual rendering being shown for this office building. A big step forward. It blends much better with 500 E Morehead a block to the west, and Spandrel's own apartment tower going up across the street. Plus, no longer exposed parking.
There's actually an even newer version of this that looks even better, with changes to the top-floor patio that makes it look more recessed into the actual building (the facade is open/windowless but encloses the space), and the entryway is a bit more recessed. I don't have a great rendering of that to show.I'm having trouble telling from this rendering, but will it have any ground level retail?

How is it making steps to look like Toyko haha? All I see are more car washes springing up, Walmart, gas stations, car dealerships, et... It looks like an overgrown Shelby or Hickory versus a baby Tokyo.
True, those kind of establishments aren't helping But I would say LEDs billboards are

I am probably in the vast minority, but the more Independence looks like a Tokyo/Hong Kong/Cyberpunk City, the more I will love it

I could be completely wrong, but I think they are moving the giant powerline towards 277(the power lines are currently over Baxter street.). I saw they built new electrical towers and under those giant white cubes they are doing electrical work on those towers.
