  1. Another location begging for a development like this is Rivergate Mall in the old Macy’s area. Plenty of parking available and BJ’s Wholesale already open.  Before long the whole Mall will probably be available as they are about at the stage where the last one out of the Mall, please turn out the lights!

  2. Just throwing this out there for comments: If the White Sox or the Stars group were to build a major league ballpark here, my thoughts are that the original proposal still has the best location and potential using the location on the river at the pedestrian bridge. The next best is to modify and expand First Horizon Park. Here though is a consideration not yet mentioned I believe. Instead of tearing down Nissan Stadium, why not modify the current stadium structure to retrofit a baseball stadium there. Surely this would cost less even though it would have to be upgraded to correct the issues necessitating the need for new build versus update of the current Nissan stadium. This modification should be funded by the owners interested in bringing a team here and the timetable would allow for work to start after the new stadium is completed for the Titans. Tell me why this could or could not work.

  3. I am aware of beginning discussions from a reliable source with NW-Mutual, that the developer is seeking State approval to build a connctor road through the current  State parking lots fronting James Robertson Parkway allowing for an ingress/egress into Jo Johnston Avenue. In exchange the developer would buid a parking garage in the currently undeveloped tract of land bound by the Railroad tracks and 10th Avenue North from Jo Johnston to Gay Street. This would be for State usage to compensate for the lost parking spaces created by the connector road. This is only in preliminary discussion but would be a major access to the development from JRP. Since more paprking spaces would be gained than lost by the State, they should be favorable to this request.

  4. First time posting to Urban Planet, but I have been viewing for years now. Let's go ahaead and get the name right on this development. It is Capitol View and not Capital View. Do not want to come across as a grammar freak on my first post but since this will likely continue to be one of the most viewed topics on the Planet, thought we ought to call it right. After typing this however, Capital View might be appropiate for this topic. .
