  1. Rickermann said while he doesn't want some ordinary parking garage, he also does not want space that would eventually turn into city offices.

If he doesnt want to see city offices to find ways into parking decks, have him find money and build a new city hall or some Government Center to share with Richland County if the city cant foot the whole bill.....oh the budget issues I forgot.

  2. I just feel, the BA building should have gone to other schools, such as Journalism and HSRM could have used each side of the this building and finally got out of the basement of the Carolina Coliseum, both of the schools are having a hard time to build their new colleges, Journalism doesn't seem close to building its new building as well as moving into LeCounte, and who knows where HRSM stands as far as its new building is concerned or if they are even still trying to raise funds for it.

  3. Any news on why the land is being cleared on Garner's Ferry road near/on the old dairy farm in front of Bi-Lo. If I'm not mistaken it seems that I heard a while back that there was going to be some type of lifestyle center there.

I was under the impression, and it appears by all the pipes in the ground it was going to a subdivison

  4. I'm not saying the state should throw a small fortune at Columbia, but it could provide some funds on a case-by-case basis, particularly when it comes to infrastructure.

I agree, Columbia does alot for the state and its buildings. The buildings require fire protection provided by Cola Fire, as well as EMS and at time Cola Police. Plus these workers use city roads and use city water, the state really should give back more to Columbia to help it out a bit.
