  1. I noticed that base work on the corner of the parking decks subflooring was being poored today. Looked like they were pooring concrete in some of the cast piles that were bored into the ground. Looks like the parking deck is starting to pick up speed with Cataylst some now.... :good:

  2. A few million dollars? :rofl: Thats Kind of pricey.... For two small antenna's, I would have though maybe about 150,000 or so for each but anyway's, I wouldn't be a bit suprised either with a mill or so............ :dontknow: Not with the price of materials these day's.........

  3. I wouldn't worry to much about construction looking slow at this point, they are still making progress on it. I think most of ther effort on this project right now is dedicated to getting the Epicenter portion opened ASAP. With Turner manning the helm as GC on the Retail portion its probably madness for RJ just to move in and go crazy on there portion right now. Don't want these guys to but heads with one another, then this project wouldn't move at all. The progress of the first four to five floors of TTT are going to take awile anyway, just like the new Wachovia tower, thats from RJ Griffin, and I do quote Slower... Once Turner wraps up there part then the condo and hotel portion will go at a lot faster pace than what we are seeing now.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty positive that Bovis Lend Lease, not RJ Griffin will be doing the GC'ing for Novare's upcoming projects in Charlotte.

    I spoke with a rep from RJ Griffin at Two Ten Trade a month or so ago and he told me they were working on the Third Ward site.. When I was woking at the TTT site. Maybe we are both right?? I wonder if its is maybe a joint venture with Bovis and RJ on this project... I don't know though maybe I was misinformed. I know Bovis is there though. From what it says on Emporis.com. :dontknow::dontknow:

  5. I am pretty sure that Bovis is just the Investment party or a private firm for the Vue Not the Contractor. My crew has been working with RJ griffin on the site, I work for the surveying company thats going to be doing eval's on the site with RJ and crew thru the duration of the project. Plus RJ. Griffin's signs is there on the corner of 5th and Pine by there main sign for anyone who doubt's. :)

  6. I don't know about everyone else here but I'm happy that its R.J.Griffin. They have a real good track record in uptown Charlotte. They are just wraping up construction with the Avenue. Also are the GC for the Cataylst, and Two Ten Trade. Also for the upcoming projects Twelve Charlotte, Novare's office tower, Vue Charlotte, and who know's what else they have in work. Really the only other General Contractor that compares to R.J. in Charlotte is Batson-Cook. Who are also really good with what they do as well. My company is working for R.J. Griffin on this project, and they are gonna waist no time if they came help it. (Short of bad weather things of that nature.) So 2 to 3 years is a very excellent time frame for the Vue here in Charlotte.

    36 months is not long at all for a project of this magnitude either. Thats pretty darn quick...

  8. The general contractor for the Vue Charlotte will be R.J.Griffin istead of Turner, if I/m not mistaken Turner lost their contract in all of the hustle and bustle with the changing of hand, and department turnover here at Charlottes Vue.

    So Yes R.J.Griffin, I also actually saw a banner on the fence at their site when I was working there a couple of weeks ago.

  9. I will likely do another photo update of this site as well as others sometime between tomorrow and Monday, so stay tuned.

    Yes- the site is flying. It's amazing at everything that has taken place just in say a one month frame of this site. In another month from now, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a secure off the ground, vertical structure beginning. Also, as depicted in my most recent photo update, the 2nd crane should be up soon, unless it is already? Sooner or later, a 3rd crane will be on site also, so pretty much will look like the 210 Trade site.

    No... The second crane still is not up yet, the base is ready to go but the projects looking good ! Look forward to seeing your pics Andy. Can't wait..

  10. I was driving by the site today and noticed that the first of the concrete pillers of the first floor were set and done for the Cataylst. (Not the subflooring or underground work whatever you want to call it.) Construction crews were pooring more pillers as well. I am very impressed with the speed this tower is moving along.. :yahoo:

    Can anyone get some pics of this in the next few days???

  11. Firstly as a long time resident of Concord... I'd just like to go on the record and say that if LMA was to move that would be strike two for this city as far as economical and buisness $$$$ is concerned. Fisrt being the loss of Phillip Morris. County commissioners overreacted and came to the conclusion of the words of anti-racing supporters mostly. People who decided to buy a house with there back yard right next to the speedway....... All I want to ask from theme is didn't you know a race track was there and what it could potentially bring??? If they are so against the noise why did they move to that specific location to begin with??

    Secondly what would happen to the city of Harrisburg if the track was to move???? That city thrives off of the race track and the people it brings every year... The people who are complaining about this need to realize. If the track goes.... there goses all of Harrisburg's big $$$. Which wouldn't that lower there tax value anyway because who would want to live there anyway with increased taxes countywide to make up for the income deficit. Harrisburg would turn into the next Rockingham in my opinion.

    I understand that people don't want the extra noise, but when your front porch overlooks one of the biggest racetracks in the country.... I have to ask what were you thinking?

    P.S. I'm not trying to state this to make anyone angry I'm trying to prove a point...

  12. I'm not sure if I will personally, but we will have people in our compamy checking and working on this project during its entire constuction phase. So any tidbits or new information I'll pass it along.

  13. Hello everyone! We shouldn't have to cross our fingers much longer on this one! The photo of the surveyors Riverwood took at the site is just a sign of thing to come for sure. I was one of the suveryors at the site... :)

    I spoke with on of the head contractors today and he said things will be moving forward from here on out. Look for site work and the lot to be cleared within the next couple of weeks. Trees and all!!! With a lot more activity in the next few weeks to come!! So get your cameras ready!!! :camera:
