  1. It doesn't say condo hotel... it just says hotel. There is a big difference between the two.

Re read it again, it says condominium hotel, boutique suite hotel, and office space.

  2. It looks like it. We can call the north crane "stumpy" unless they raise it today, its about the height of what the south one was.

Went by today and saw about 4 pieces I think left on the ground. Looks like the north one still will be raised in the coming days.

  3. So... are they both up yet?

  4. Ah its finally poking above the surrounding 2 story buildings. Looked to be about the height of the nearby Fairwinds/ Former SouthTrust Building this afternoon

  5. post-1870-1153167461_thumb.jpg

Even with height difference in where they are located, im not sure they are yet the same height. Both amsouth and the vue are about the same distance from the camera in this image

  6. Isn't AmSouth on higher ground as well?

I stated in my previous quote that even with the height difference, I still don't think the Vue is currently as tall or taller than Amsouth. Unless it was a slope difference of 20-30 ft which it is not. Im glad its going to be 426' it just seem like where it is now and wheres it going, didn't seem to make sense

  7. yeah... its shorter than Solaire, but taller than all other shorter bldgs., incl. Amsouth, which is 292'(?). My question is this-- are the 2-story units considered 1 floor each, or still 2-floors each?

It clearly is still shorter than the Amsouth building, even with the height difference in where the two are located. Something tells me this will not be 400ft

  8. Yeah I think it was this weekend. If you look at the new height, I imagine the finished height of VUE will be just a little taller then that (just my opinion).

At full height is should look the same height as the courthouse. If the Courthouse is 417 and the Vue is 426, and take into account the slope between the where the Courthouse is and the Vue

  9. Has there been any indication of who is owning/running this theatre when it opens?

Is it going to be a typical movie theater, playing the same tripe that everyone gets to see at Pleasure Island/Pointe Orlando/Citywalk, or will it cater more to the educated base of downtown and show art films regularly? Orlando is really in need of something like this because Enzian's one screen just doesn't cut it anymore.

I remember when I moved from the Philadelphia suburbs, a chain of theaters had opened up called Ritz which prided itself on showing more art films. Every time I went there, the place was packed. Plus, they had real butter for the popcorn! :yahoo:

I wonder if they are still in business....

Amstar Cinemas, they also have one in Lake Mary

  10. I checked this site out on Sunday... I do not see much activity or any real indication this is going vertical any time soon..

Yeah I went by on Sunday too. There appeared to be very little work that is and has been taking place. Doesn't look any different then the pictures that were posted above on March 18th

  11. Mercantile Bank is interesting. They have their Florida headquarters and a branch office already at the corner of Orange and Central, just about right across the street. Wonder if the whole operation is moving into the plaza or just the branch.

  12. Walked by the site this morning and interior demolition on the north side of the market has begun in full force. There is a Bobcat tearing up what was once Brookstone.

I thought brookstone was on the south side.
