I'll see what I can do...
Ok, went by 55W this morning and Sam toured me really quick through Two Loft models (The Gramercy and Tribeca) starting at $1008 available for move-ins Sept 1st and a Two bedroom (Eola) at $1800 with move-ins Oct 1st on the 22nd floor. I was very impressed with the finishes, nice granite in the two bedroom model with a Huge counter overlooking the open living and dining area, corner unit with great NE view. The master bedroom had a King size bed with plenty of room and split bedroom plan. Nice granite computer desk in the kitchen too.
The first corner loft was nice on the 4th floor overlooking Church St, Lots of floor to ceiling glass in all the units and Huge balconies compared to the other condos in other buildings around DT.
I was lucky that a train was going by and I heard it in the hallway however, once I got inside the unit I heard really nothing. The elevators were flawless, nicely finished and very smooth and FAST.
We did not get a chance to go to the fitness center or pool yet as we both had appointments soon. Here are some pics I snapped real quick.

I just noticed the last pics are from The Vue and My Penthouse listing in Solaire, no time to edit.

Well, I have been in my unit for a month now and I am finally to the point where I was organized enough to take some photos. Nobody has posted anything on this thread over this past month, so I am not sure if anybody is still even reading it anyway, LOL. But since a couple people asked for pictures of the view from the balcony, I figured I'd come back to this thread and post a link.
Although most of the pictures are of the unit itself, there are several daytime and nighttime shots of downtown Orlando. Instead of attaching a bunch of pictures to this thread, it's easier to just give the link to the page where you can view them all. You need to scroll down to the pics and ignore the text since its just there for down the road if/when I go back overseas and possibly lease it out for a short period: http://www.giovannisalvatore.com/rentals/units/vue_3502.htm
It has been a bigger adjustment moving from the Waverly to the VUE than I thought it would, however just in the last couple weeks it is finally starting to feel like home. Last night though was the first dose of 'real' thunderstorm that we've had downtown in the past month, and it will certainly take some time to get used to the lightning which was constantly hitting the lightning rods directly above my unit. It was one hell of a light show from the windows. Somehow I am going to have to quickly get over my fear of lightning, LOL. (I'm guessing that sitting with a drink on the terrace during a thunderstorm would be a BAD idea).
Fantastic pictures, The SW Corner is definitely my favorite unit in the building. Thanks for sharing !

This might be a silly question. If AMC is not paying for construction and Kuhn is out of the picture then who exactly is managing/paying for the finishing of the theatre? I saw some movement and banging around up there the other day which got my hopes up. Oh, and where exactly is the Publix supposed to be located in DT?
Publix is going to be in the ground level at The Paramount on Lake Eola, 400 E Central Blvd.

I'm playing, seriously its good discussion lets just keep it cool.
Anyone check out Corona yet? Are they open tonight? Or was it a temp. opening last week? I wouldn't mind smoking a blunt this evening
Corona is open, Definitely reminds me of Mexico Pavillion in Epcot. Very cool addition to The Plaza.

well, here's what I do know about the Plaza as of today (retail-wise):
1. Urban Flats-- opened
2. Salon Elyse-- opened
3. Cold Stone-- buildout-- almost done
4. Bento Cafe-- buildout
5. Volcanos-- buildout
6. Corona Cigar-- buildout
7. Bola Italian Eatery-- met with the owners last month-- buildout to begin in January
8. AMC 12-- buildout-- more than halfway done; walls up; etc... target is Valentine's Day.
Anyone else see the quote from Cameron Kuhn in the OBJ that AMC will be open by January 25th?

I tend to think that most people keep places like Miami and LA in that category of: nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there.
I am moving to Atlanta next month and have run into a lot of people who feel that way about it. If I had to guess, I would say that is probably pretty common for most major cities in America.
Wow, I will definitely miss your posts OrlandoNative. You always gave me alot of education as far as the construction aspects. Good Luck in Atlanta!

Did I miss anything while I was on vacation?
Now, I am not trying to plug myself and its just a personal market observation however, I have noticed a definate increase in sales at Solaire in the past month or so. More buyers have contacted me recently and I have closed on 3 condos since Solaire opened Feb 2007 with one more in pending from a contract i wrote on Labor Day. Most buyers are interested in one bedroom units compared to two bedroom units. They feel the two bedroom units are still overpriced at the current asking prices. ie: 390k range. I wish I could let them know the actual opening date of the cinema as that would be a definate plus.

If you haven't yet, go to www.projecthometown.com and click on "how can I help". Send an email to Mayor Crotty and all of the County commissioners in support of the Downtown Venues. then tell everyone you know to do the same before Thursday.

Walked by today...looks like Urban flats is going to open any day now. They had a bunch people in there, looks like they were training and trying out food and recipes. Looks great, I can't wait to go down there and get some food.
On the negative side, no way the move theater opens next week. I don't know what the problem is here, but it is annoying, we need to get this corner up and running!!
Urban Flats opens tomorrow, Wednesday, at 4pm. They opened tonight for a trial run with friends and family.

Went up to Stirling Sotheby's new digs in the North Tower yesterday, in between showings at Solaire. The place is coming together nicely. Plasma's everywhere, coffee/Latte'/Wine Bar on the west side overlooking orange ave with a great 16th floor view, the deck facing solaire was very impressive and large with a perfect downtown view towards lake eola.

Separately, Highwoods acquired 0.8 acres of development land adjacent to Eola Park Centre for $2 million that is entitled for the development of an office building of up to 224,000 square feet.
From what I can see its the lot to the East (224 E Robinson) of the existing building, not to the south, I was scared for The Vue for a second.

Steve, ZOM pays a Realtor, like me, a commission to bring them tenants. Alot of us advertise on Craigslist and other websites for potential renters. Alot of the advertisements have old rent prices as agents sometimes do not update to the new prices, which sometimes increase Daily, as they rent them out. I hope that clarifies how the Biz works alittle. It also does not Cost the potential renters any more when they use a Realtor and their knowledge to find the best deals for them.
