[Richmond Dining-Out scene]

Dana Craig has a review today in the RTD about a nostalgic place in my memory. It is now called GUS' BAR AND GRILL. Prior to that it was known as OUT OF BOUNDS. But even earlier, it was owned and operated by a Greek couple and called simply TOMMY'S where you could get a damned good lunch of Tenderlois tips or fried seafood for less than ten bucks. Alas, both Tommy and his wife have gone to glory.

GUS'S BAR AND GRILL comes in with a two-star rating from Dana.

Side note: When I lived in Richmond the ABC board did not allow the word "Bar" in the name of a restaurant. I think that is a recent ABC relaxation because I've noticed it with some frequency of late.

Hello, everyone. I have actually been to Gus' twice and, for a "sports bar" type of place, the food is really good. It's smoke free and clean. I plan to frequent it more than I ever did OOB.

Are we sure that's Fall Line getting the mansard roof? Where was the pic taken from? One thing I've been kvetching about is that all of their models show nice rooflines, but what has been built until now has been flat topped. I hope it's a good sign.

In the picture, that is actually the Skyline building, but they are doing the same thing on the Fall Line.

[Fulton / Rockett's Landing]

I was able to attend the Rockett's Landing event today. Overall I'm very impressed. Some of the views are INCREDIBLE. The one nitpick thing that bothered me was the use of gold hardware (hinges, doorknobs) mixed with stainless steel towel racks, faucets, etc. in the bathrooms/kitchen. Obviously not expensive to change but something I would think an average developer would not confuse. Move in will start mid-May for some residents. I took a lot of pictures and I'll try to post them this weekend.

Hi! New here... Just wanted to let you know that the use of "gold hardware" is only scheduled for the Fall Line -- thank goodness. (It bothered me, too.)
