Their food sucks! The environment is awesome....I would rather see a Wild wings like the one by Walmart on battlefield blvd
Agree...Wild Wing Cafe is fantastic!

AW Shuck's also serves Norfolk's own microbrew, O'Connor's. The same guys own Tortilla West, which is one of my favorite Norfolk restaurants.

I just hope the powers that be have a plan for waterside and we are being kept in the dark. If they could get a urban best buy and a target, keep outback and get a few other restaurants like pf chang's and maybe a legal seafood, then waterside might be rescued.
Oh, and keep hooter's too.

And we're talking about race in the Light Rail thread because.....
Because I am going to try to beat one of the light rail cars in a foot race.

I'm with you varider, that sounds kinda silly. Walking in Norfolk is easy enough, it's not exactly a sprawling metro. But, the construction down there may be affecting some to and fro, so I'm glad they implemented something like that. How many people are actually using that though? It's just silly. Walk. I was at the NorVA on Tuesday night, and wow, Monticello looks real great right now, lol.
Went and saw Grizzly Bear? Great band!

It also looks like they are planning a large development on the Hague parking lots as well. 2020 will be a great time for DT Norfolk, at least in these renderings.
That would be the Chrysler museum expansion.

They should keep it purple. I like it!

$5 anything sounds good to me... I'll hafta try out Sobo... what nights does Boar's nest boast a good nightlife?... I went there on a saturday night a while back and it was terrible... Havana's remains the only good bar I've been to in Norfolk on saturday nights after 9 or 10, all of Ghent's are fun till about that time but then they become ghost towns.
37th and Zen is really good. Not really in the village, but the food is terrific. Try the fried pickles.

AJ Gators is good for a sunday afternoon. Good wings, beer, and the MLB package.

They have an aluminum pool from what I was told. Still haven't been over there to check it out. Have a friend on the 12th or 11th.
I've heard that Trump Sr. built the building then sold it. Have not confirmed it, friend said someone with the mgmt company told him this.
I've been a photo slacker recently. I've got a Canon all setup to take pictures automatically, I just need to find better control software because the thing will trigger the flash at night. Also, if the sun rises facing it, I think it will burn out the CCD.
Trump Sr. did, in fact, build the hague towers. It was his second major project. Leaned that from a 80 year old cab driver...so it must be true!

Well, "monstrous" is a pretty apt description for the Westin. The sketch in this document lines up exactly with the official renderings that have been released, only this is from a rear view. I think that sketch is pretty close to accurate. I would tend to agree with your other points however as we don't really have much information to go on with the rest of it (though I do think a rendering has already been released for the courthouse, i'm just having trouble finding it).
Here it is

jim jones has it right...i hate the boo birds on the pilot...they ruin my viewing experience. This is a starter line...the first 12 construction projects that they have submitted for bid...it is guaranteed that it will go over budget. we have many to go...
First the starter line...second, extend to the waterfront. third, down hampton blvd to the base...fourth, down shore drive to little creek and beyond...fifth, join the second extension to the waterfront (past oceana) to the spur coming down the northside and add on a spur to the airport...15 years and a viable public transportation system for a middle-market metropolitan area...and then on our way to greatness (dont worry wards corner people, they will put a spur following the old trolley system straight down granby to join up in ov).
I love it.

What is funnier is there is an Ingleside in LA, and it's always mentioned as being the bad area in the rap songs. I think it was mentioned in Ice Cube's Today is a Good Day.
Man if only that POS was Maglev.
Ice Cube...Ghetto Bird. "I hit the gas and I mashed past Inglewood...I think I drove through every single hood"....Damn Superchickens! Word.

Yeah, I was impressed by that. I knew the was support but 60 percent is quite substantial. Perhaps substantial enough to get some of the other local politicians on board. The pilot online commentors are not representative of our area, thats not only a refreshing thought but also a refreshing fact.
I couldn't agree more. Optimistic people who love our area should be encouraged to post just as vehemently as the nay-sayers. I am trying to do my part! Comment early and comment often.

Im with you Chesapeake Pirate. There is nothing remarkable about this house. There are older and prettier houses in Riverview and Colonial Place (and Park Place for that matter) and nobody would say a word if they were demolished. Change happens.

Went to O's donuts. It was delicious. Peanut butter glazed. Need I say more.
