  1. I think you may be right.

I heard on the news tonight that Dockery has 26 out of 40 possible votes against it in the state senate. leaving only 14 in favor.

I'm thinking Sunrail is likely going to be DOA.

Dockery has been bragging about having 26 nays for a while now. She is full of it. It will be close, but she doesn't have that many votes.

  2. I'm not an insider by any means on this project but I would expect to at least see the medical/office condos go up. Health care industry in general right now is not suffering and that location is prime to FH. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the commercial retail going up also, the Mills area is always busy and I think people living in the core would like an alternative to having everything located on Colonial. I think if anything they'll hold off on the residential condos for a while or possibly switch some to rentals. Just my guess, I am no expert.

I think the residential condos have already been changed to rentals; however, that was done a while ago, and still no progress.

Guess Baker Barrios is not in this, we might not have a visor for our arena. Oh no.

The rendering they have been showing for the new arena looks very similar to the Pepsi Center in Denver, IMO

  4. Yup.  Start tearing up the area just west of I-4, right in the center of downtown.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

To me the ideal spot is in the corner on the west side of I-4 at the 408/I-4 Interchange in the spot south of CityView/Huges Square. The view of downtown coming in from I-4 from the southside of town would be unreal with the development downtown on the east side and a new stadium on the west side.

The only downside I can see to something like that is what people have mentioned on this board about how the stuff that is on the west side already acts as a barrier to development and my proposal wouldnt help that at all, it would just be really aesthetically pleasing.

In the end though, if the city is gonna have a world class facility, then I am all for it wherever it is!!
