  1. Good thing we had a pretty warm night, looks like there is only a little bit left to go on ground floor, then maybe we'll see some more rebar and columns, and the beginning of the 1st actual floor of retail and restaurants. I'm tickled pink.

On a side note, did anyone else see the ad in last weeks CBJ for 210 trade, that said the penthouses are now available. This also became the 3rd piece of information that has confirmed there to be 6 floors of 2 level penthouses. If this is the case, why does the website only list 4 floors, and doesn't even have them available. I have actually wondered this for sometime now. The people I have spoken to have said 6 floors, all the renderings say 6 floors, this ad says 6 floors yet the website says 4, can anyone explain this to me? The Website is pretty useless if you ask me. I've been waiting a long time to see the layouts for the Penthouses, and they don't seem to want to give them to me.

    -D

The website shows 6 floors: 43/44, 45/46, and 47/48. Move your mouse up to the very top of the rendering to the part that's partially hidden. Also, I'm pretty sure the penthouses will be custom-designed, so there probably aren't any layouts to put on the website.

  2. And to add to that, the epicenter portion is being built. This was made possible because of the land deal the city gave Ghazi on the property to take it over. It's not clear however if 210 Trade is still in the works.

What land deal? I thought he paid a pretty penny for the dirt...

  3. I understand where everyone is coming from on talking about the lack of pedestrian friendliness, but you have to understand codes and how it works with the site. The site topography slopes and there are certain ADA requirements that must be met. So having these steps on the sides is needed to create a level walking surface throughout the complex that meets College Street. Just thought I'd add some "reality" points to the topic at hand.

BryanH is dead on. Metro, you happened to pick the least pedestrian friendly ingress/egress point in the whole center to criticize. The grades are such that stairs were absolutely necessary here, and I don't see any blank walls, I see lots of storefronts and signage spots. There's no way to fit 300,000 sf of retail all facing inwards in this thing.

  4. i dont think this has been posted yet but http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/business/14680104.htm

so "black fin" a ny based restaurant. sounds exciting. add in lucky strike lanes (lounge bowling alley) and fox sports grille and places like mama fus and planet smoothie this place looks exciting.

i just hope they dont price themselves into the stratosphere. That is the main concern.

Looks like a pretty cool place - I'd definitely at least try it out. The menu looks pretty standard, but if the atmosphere is right, it could be great. I assume they'll adjust prices for the Charlotte market...

  5. here's a question - what does everyone think is the best floor and view as an investment opportunity at 210 trade from 400+? for the sake of argument, let's say price is not an issue, but penthouses are out. do people typically snatch up the highest levels first in a building this tall? what are the pros/cons?

    opinions?
