FYI The new high rise project at 930 Poydras is scheduled to open by the end of this year. With the rumor of the economy having bottomed out perhaps another big project down town will be green lighted by then.

Looks like they've taken down the Trump website.

For what it's worth. Bidclerk indicates Trump to begin this August. Doubt it, but it would be great if true.

Here's and interesting article about apartment development. They, I believe, erroneously state that 930 Poydras will still be 37 floors as originally planned.

There's apparently a billboard up in Mississippi for Trump. I sure hope the building will eventually get built. Any new developements?

One of the few areas of promising redevelopement is Tulane Ave. where there's 2.5 to 3 billion of construction planned or under way.

Here's another disappointing article indicating that
Trump is probably another year away.

I'm pretty sure the maps available on Bidclerk for non-subscribers are inaccurate as is a lot of the other information there. They've announced many projects that never came to fruition. I'd still like to know what is the Genesis for this 52 story building.

This may not be new news to you guys but today's New Orleans City Business has an announcement of a new 300 room hotel for Baton Rouge.

In stead of a 38 story spire, it's a 21 story box. I suppose it's an improvement over the parking lot.

On Fulton Street I think they're redoing Ernst Cafe and some other things.
I was also disappointed that Robert's no longer has the site at Canal and Carrolton. That location and the tent city under the Claiborne overpass at Canal are the the biggest eyesores on the thoroughfare.
There is a rendering of 930 Poydras from May 1st on this forum. It looks like a really uninspired design to me.
Is there any news on the big Nolatown project proposed for the Lakefront?
One last thing. I went past West End the other day and there is not one building left standing. It seems to me that would be a great location for a large scale project like Nolatown. Any news for that site?

Slow news in the development world around here lately, but the TP had an article about the Audubon Insectarium, which is opening June 13 in the Customs House downtown. It's only going to be in part of the first floor of the building, but I was wondering if anyone knew what the rest of the building is used for? I was surfing around trying to find out, but I couldn't find much about it past about the 1930's or so.
I believe the U.S. Customs Service still uses a lot of space in the building.

30 story condo tower reported today on Bidclerk for May 2010 construction start. Does anyone know what project this might be?
