  1. Has anyone seen a bid sheet for Trump? Speaking of which, what's the deal with the advertising roll-out? I thought the ad campaign would have been started by now. The website is still pathetic.

Regarding Trump, I was told by the marketing people that the national marketing campaign would be starting now. They said they were trying to get 1600 reservations for the 500 to 600 or so units. So far, I've seen a full page ad in City Business this week, but I think that was was paid for by the sales agents, not the developers.

Things have been very quiet. I do not expect that construction will start anytime soon. I have not heard of a builder being nailed down, they are still trying to get a handle on costs, and they still need to convert condo reservations to binding sales contracts before they start building anything. That process will take months and months.

  2. Is anything ever going to come of this project announced several months ago? I think they were going to call it Nolatown.

None of the NO Lakefront projects announced - this one or L'Ultime, are going to happen.

This project was supposed to be on Levee Board property. The NO levee board is not in the development business anymore.

  3. So Tracage, Trump, what other names can you give me? Also, are these buildings really going to happen? I heard that Vantage (sp)?? isn't being built anymore...I would really like to buy new.

The only new construction that you can live in in the near future is a project called Mills Row. 31 units in a five story building just completed

in the Warehouse District. Corner of Tchoupitoulas and John Churchill Chase.

I think the website is www.millsrow.com

  4. All of these projects have to find buyers first. Its is one thing to appeciate good design. It is another thing

    to actually get it built.

It would be a tremedous statement to the rest of the country if these high rises get filled amd completed. It would mean that New Orleans and Southeastern LA. are definitely back and stronger than ever. Regrettably, right now, the population, income and market here cannot support this many high rise buildings at one time. You have to rely on out of town - second home buyers, and that is exactly who we have lost since Katrina. Prob. less than half of the projects mentioned in this thread will ever get out of the ground in the near future, or will be drastically redesigned.

Tennis, if my memory serves, you have reservations at the Vantage project, Tracage, and now Trump.

That's alot of deposits! Do you plan to go forward with all?

  5. Great news for Jefferson Parish. Thanks for the info. Even health care services and senior citizen living, that's a good idea. I recognize the Libeskind name; that will be a really nice looking project for sure.

That project is a pipe dream. With the economic realities of the area and the high cost of construction, you will never have 30 story towers built at that inferior location.

By the way tennis, the nola development site is in the Lower Garden District on Religious Street near River Garden, not the Warehouse District.
