  1. JetBlue has officially begun service out of Bradley. Definitely a great thing for the region. Hopefully Bradley can continue to add flights and carriers. It would be nice to have AirTran come back as well and obviously I want to see non stop LA and trans-atlantic service resumed.

    Hartford Business Journal

Low-cost air carrier JetBlue Airways landed its inaugural flight into Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks today, starting twice daily service between Connecticut and Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

The JetBlue flights are the latest additions to a new list of flights that were added out of Bradley this year including Frontier Airlines flying to Milwaukee and Delta Air Lines adding service to Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, although the Los Angeles flight was discontinued in September.

Hopefully JetBlue within 2 years will be the largest carrier at Bradley as they are about to become in Boston, as this will result in atleast a total 25% passnger increase for the airport imho

  2. Hartford needs a arena. The XL Center is fine for now, but I hear the innards of the building are starting to really show their age. There will be a point where the building will need to be replaced, and yes government should invest in it.

Mikel I don't always or maybe often agree with you, but even if the NHL never returns you are right a new building is necessary to keep what he have, womens big east, shot at mens ncaa regionals, etc

  3. this lowering I-91 stuff is 20 years down the road considering the re-building of the I-84 viaduct is 15 years out. I just want McFaddens Pub, Jerry Remy's sports bar and Legal Seafood in the next 30% leasing of front street, then maybe howl at the moon, coyote ugly, and couple of local places to round out phase one and then the residential tower and cool use of times buildingh for phase 2

  4. Not a bad letter.

I think the current location is exceptional, but its current design hurts the area, while a more street friendly design that reconnects Pratt, and Allyn would be an incredible boost to the area. A pro sport would mnake all the difference as well of course.

A connected "Allyn-Pratt Street" if developed properly with similar brick as Pratt Street, proper infill of lots with bars and restaurants, and quirky shops, could truly make "Allyn-Pratt Street" the Bourbon Street of New England, as some city council members are trying to promote Allyn street as.

  5. The arena study eliminated it because the development was progressing so it was eliminated. since it is clearly not progressing I suppose it would be back on the table.

but it is still not as good as the current site.

Another advantage to Front Street for arena, current XL center can be open for construction of new arena, as opposed to leaving us without any arena downtown for 3-5 years.

  6. he hasn't the slightest information regarding how the hartford21 is doing. he has no worthwhile reason to think anything about this building's success, failure or any other status. and by the way, your writing has improved dramatically all of a sudden.

Don't need inside information to see that no retail stores have opened 1 year later, and that is certainly disapointing.
