The Greenville Planning Commission is expected to change the zoning of the land where the proposed shopping center is going at the intersection of Garlington and Pelham Roads from services to commercial on October 16 at 6:30pm. The rezoning request can be seen here: http://www.greenvilleplanning.com/land_dev...ing%20Cases.htm
-Also, I have received word from the Shopping Center Group that construction on the proposed shopping center at the Saco Lowell site is expected to begin in early 2007 or maybe even before that. This is great news as i'm moving into a new house later this month that is located less than 2 miles from that site.

I noticed driving over the Church St. bridge today that they have started to put up the outer walls for the parking garage and/or the publix.

I rode my bike on the newly finished part of rails-to-trials next to Linky Stone Park earlier today. There were a ton of city workers finishing up the rubberized surface and installing water fountains along with benches and other things. It's a very nice looking trail and seemed to be very safe. It will look a lot better though once the Kroc Center and Camperdown Condos get built in the near future.

Article in the Greenville News a few days ago about rails-to-trails. Grand opening set for October 12th. More info: http://greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/.../610030377/1061

I would like to congratulate the Gamecocks for a game well played. We lost, but just barely. Auburn had a few fortunate plays, but Carolina played will against the #2 team in the nation, and they showed me that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Go 'Cocks!
Yeah, but you still didn't win. Can you tell i'm a Clemson fan. I will say though that the Gamecocks played a lot better than I thought they would of and played a hard, fought battle. Also, Clemson gave a whoopin to Louisiana Tech.

Thanks, guys. So far he doesn't seem to mind me emailing him a lot of times. Also to note, that last email was the first one i've sent him in like a month, so it's not like I send him one every day or anything.

When I took those pics a couple days ago, I also noticed that they were replacing some rock work on the top of the fountain on the left hand side and that's why it was off.

cdude, do you think you can find out from Bob Ellis if the "state's tallest" is still in the works?
Everytime I try to email him about it, he won't respond. The only time he responds is when I ask him something about the Pinnacle on Main.

I noticed this too. Good ridence.
Any word on the Pendleton West Condo Bldg, btoy, or anyone?
Your in luck. I just received an email on this yesterday. They told me construction of the condos is scheduled to begin in early 2007.
Has a date been stated for the anticipated construction of the Brick Street Lofts? I really want to see this project happen.I heard somewhere that it could start sometime between the end of this year and early next year. I could be wrong though.

That would be cool!
Speaking of DPC, what's up with the green monster in the West End?
I'm confused. Can somebody please tell the "green monster" thing your talking about? I'm pretty sure your not referring to the one at West End Field seeing how that's already built.

There is an awful lot of dirt being moved on this site. Anyone heard anything new?
Email I received from the Shopping Center Group: It was my understanding that the landowner did change his mind about 60 days ago. I have recently understood that the developers, Crescent Resources and Core Properties which my former partner Kivett Williams has just gone to work for, have gotten the landowner back to the table and have the property under contract again and are working with SuperTarget for that site, but the SuperTarget deal is not finalized yet.
