The completion date for the Piedmont Park expansion project was set for 2010, but work may still be ongoing. Have any delays or tweakages pushed forward the completion date a few years?
Also, Piedmont Park had a golf course until 1979. The south area of the park should be renovated to remove all traces of the former golf course.

In response to number 1, the facade of the Fine Arts Building/Adams Theatre was saved. I'm sure you know that Jim, but just to clarify for people that haven't been downtown in a while.

On the former site of the Metropolitan Gardens housing project, a mixed-use development should have been built on that area. But I guess it is Birmingham's version of Atlanta's Centennial Place development.

The Capitol Gateway Park is a proposed linear park to be placed on a strip of land stretching from the Georgia State Capitol to Oakland Cemetery. It would provide a front lawn and event space. It is bounded by Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Memorial Drive, Capitol Avenue, and Oakland Avenue.

1. The Detroit Fine Arts Building and Adams theatre was demolished in July 2009 and a parking lot is currently on the site.
2. Also, the Detroit Riverside Hotel beside the Convention center has closed despite a recent renovation.
3. And the Cobo Arena may possibly be demolished to necessitate the expansion of the Cobo Convention Center. I think that the Joe Louis Arena and all of the convention center should be demolished also. I will come up with plans for a completely new convention centre and a new arena for the Detroit Red Wings. They will be separate projects.

I could be opposed to a casino in Atlanta, especially if it is placed in Underground Atlanta. Casinos outside of Las vegas, Atlantic City, Tunica, and Biloxi are always white elephants and in the inner cities, thy are a waste of space. And I am also opposed to that new 29-storey hotel tower. I'm glad that the project was shelved.

A sixth runway may be proposed for the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. If there is a sixth runway, it is to be located just to the north of the new fifth runway. I don't know if that proposal will go forward.

I haven't heard any news about the proposed Fox Plaza complex (the buildings that are replacing the deceased 615 Peachtree). The project is becoming stale (I hope it doesn't get canceled, though).

I should have had the Georgia Dome built a bit to the south when it was constructed back in 1992. I don't care in extended park connects Downtown to the University Centre, I don't want the Georgia Dome torn down. I could try moving the stadium, but it weighs 10 million tons.

Yesterday the GWCC Authority unveiled the following options for a new stadium and expansion of the convention center.

This option would include moving sidewalks or some kind of people mover between the exhibit halls and new front door to the center on Marietta Street. This one is obviously the winner.
Why did they suddenly propose this crazy plan? I do not want a new stadium or an expansion to the convention center. The convention centre has run out of space to expand. I would prefer Option A because other options for a new stadium would involve the death of the Georgoa Dome and we don't want that. The GWCC complex is fine the way it is now.

225 Bayonne Street has been vacant since 2005's Hurricane Katrina and a proposal that was announced in September 2007 calls for converting it into 437 apartments at a cost of $150,000,000.

About the Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects, two of the towers were demolished in 2003. Now the remaining portions of the complex are scheduled for demolition and mixed-income housing similar to Woodbridge Estates may go up on the site.

Plus, if there were a hotel in the BofA Plaza Tower (which there won't be), it would have been at the top of the building and not at the bottom. Why do you have to put it at the bottom on the building, anyway? I should have converted the entire structure into a hotel (which will never, ever happen).

I don't care about the benefits it brings. I want it to remain a purely office building for the rest of its life. I am opposed to the proposed hotel in the Bank of America Plaza. This proposal is crazy and doesn't make sense.

I don't want a luxury hotel inside the Bank of America Tower. It will screw up the usage in this tower.

I already have 3 choices for a new stadium to replace Legion Field: on the UAB campus, next to the BJCC Complex, or at Fair Park. (I would have posted this message at the Birmingham 2020 or Pan American Games forums.)

I couldn't find a thread here in this forum about Legion Field, but I think the Bham wiki said something about demolishing Legion field. I think Legion Field should be replaced with a new football stadium.

In the Trump Charlotte proposal, one tower has 72 floors and the other tower has 42. I would hate to see anything surpass the Bank of America Corporate Center in height.

About the Margaritaville resort project, they are currently renovating the old Casino Magic hotel tower, which has 378 rooms. And they are possibly going to build a 420-rom hotel tower of unknown height.

Has the site been cleared after the Coliseum's death last year? I'm pretty sure nothing in the redevelopment plan has been finalised yet.

Are there still and plans to demolish Ford Auditorium for expansion of the Hart Plaza park?

The Grady Homes east of Downtown were torn down recently. What will replace the complex? At Google Earth, I saw a green space on the site.

Is any part of the World Trade Centre even vacant? If the building is renovated into a 900-room hotel, there won't be any offices left.
