Looks like city council is meeting on Monday to consider appropriating funds to cover the overage. They brought the cost down to $1.2m.
-
I can’t read the article but doesn’t the fact that they issued an intent to award mean they have a plan to source the additional funds?

Anyone with a Post and Courier subscription want to write up a brief summary of their article on the SRT extension delay?

Is there a link to the RFP for the bridges?
-
It’s hard to believe this is going to take 2.5 years. The have asked for the bridges to be delivered in June of 2020. It seems like they should be able to get them installed and paving done in 12 months.

"The final two easements required are in the process of being finalized," county spokesman Bob Mihalic said. "Design elements are ahead of schedule. Official announcements will be made very soon."
He and I have different definitions of “very soon”!

I ended up going but not much to report. It was approved but there was no one there from the city to present anything.

Thanks, are you planning on attending? I was hoping to go but may have a conflict. If you go will you post a short summary if there is anything interesting?

Do you know when this application is being reviewed? I thought I had seen it on a meeting agenda for this afternoon but now I don’t see any meetings scheduled for today.

I noticed the study request mentioned construction potentially starting in 6 months. Any chance this permit means they could start this section earlier than that?
-
Does anyone know what prompted this study? I’m pleased to see the project is moving forward and I think the study will be helpful but this extension has been planned for several years and it seems like this would have been done sooner. I’m wondering if it was requested by the property owners who need to grant easements or maybe just changes in the decision makers (city council etc.).

Did you happen to overhear anything about the Laurens road extension?
-
Does anyone have any information on the status of property owners agreeing to donate land for the swamp rabbit trail? I’m sure it’s a more complex process than it seems on the surface but it’s taking a really long time to get this resolved. I live near where the trail is going and plan to use it multiple times a week so this is testing my patience.

I road my bike on the new green line extension this morning from Verdae to Cleveland Park. The paving stopped about 30 yards short of the bridge over Laurens road. Barring weather or some other conflict this should be done next week.
