Here's an historic block in Boise, Idaho. City center dates the the 1860's cool downtown with historic preservation and newer towers built and planned.

Just got back from a trip to Boise and really liked the downtown! the City as well as the Capitol City Development Corp. seem very involved in creating a livable, vibrant downtown. I hope for the chance to participate in that development!

Great renderings. Where did you find this information.

Hum, seems I am not sure yet how to post photos, any help?

Have a good friend that relocated to the Boise area about 2-1/2 years ago and loves it. I have visited once and done alot of research on the possibilities for small infill development. Would like a shot at making some meaningful developments in the area. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the link. Very helpful to see what's planned. I look forward to my visit next week and in evaluating these projects. Do you live downtown yourself?

Looks like you live there in Boise, do you perceive a demand for live/work, urban, high-density products? I am currently in Arizona and the product is doing well in the downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix markets. Seems like the Boise politicians are more ahead of the curve with some planning initiatives, zoning code issues, etc.

My thought is to boost the density of development in the areas directly connected to the downtown core and use 3-5 story mixed use pedestrian friendly projects that could include neighborhood retail/restaurant uses on the street level, office on street and/or 2d level and loft style living on the upper floors. So far the City staff, etc. are very helpful and willing to discuss potential...false hope?

I have been researching the Boise, Idaho downtown area and am extremely impressed with the City's proactive efforts to encourage urban, high-density redevelopment. Has anyone had any experience with developing in the City?

Would you be interested in living downtown...if you did, what types of things would you look for in a living unit? As a local, I would love to get your input on what is needed downtown and what types of amenities, etc. would make it an attractive alternative.
