  1. The only Tower on Washington is the Presidential Condo. Benchmark was all office. Although when they pitched it they included a picture of the Presidential but it was never part of Benchmark. Kuhn just said that along with Benchmark they were in talks we a developer who wanted to co-locate a residential tower. When Benchmark pulled out the other developers with the residential tower did not.
  2. Benchmark and Cornerstone were supposed to be a part of the same development. Benchmark was on the side that was along Washington Street and was a high-rise office tower. When Kuhn dropped the Benchmark tower he kept the redevelopment of the old Penneys now called Cornerstone. After Benchmark was dropped Kuhn mentioned a possible high-end car dealership. Bentley or something.
  3. I believe the car dealership was suggested for a Benchmark replacement and not a Cornerstone replacement. There is some rumors floating that Benchmark may be back in play so the car dealership deal is not in stone.
  4. Has one of my pet pieves ... and reminds me of several more. 1) Lots of surface parking ... I hate pavement. I also hate ... overhead power and phone lines and ... You know when the yellow line next to a road median is 4' out from the median on either side ... that means the median could have been 8' wider ... more greenery less pavement. If you can't drive on it .. don't pave it! You know those suicide turn lanes that go on and on ... often with no driveways to turn into on either side of the road ... I hate pavement for pavement sake. You know when they paint diagonal yellow stripes to simulate a median ... put a curb around it and plant some grass, damn it.
  5. I posted this elsewhere but it's better here. The Sentinel says Aqua has 6 towers. Are there four hidden behind the two in the rendering?
  6. Once the two 12 stories (Eola & Church) get built East and Southeast of Sanctuary and the 18 story (Church & Eola) gets built South of Sanctuary the Jackson will be completely hidden from this view. But it adds to the density and its good to know the people living in the Jackson will have so many naighbors.
  7. ^ Agree. Capital Plaza II did a good thing by putting in a Sam Snead's. Hopefully CP III will expand on that.
  8. I see a lot of trees in that corridor. I don't have a problem with trees. I think trees are kinda nice. I don't see making room for trees as a waist at all. And if you can provide a dual use of using it for drop offs then that's just a bonus.
  9. And since you have what looks like a condo and a hotel ... It makes for a good place for taxis to drop off and pick up. Embassy suites has a driveway for taxis.
  10. The people in the condo, yes, urbanites. But you can't expect all the office workers in the office building to be from down the block.
  11. I think it might clean up well with a little more design work. It needs a bit more business look than Monarch or Paramont which are primarily residential. The building in the back has a CNL look to it; which I like but I hope it doesn't stay white. I like the rose marble that CNL used. It looks like they are putting in retail on the ground floor of the two Rosalind facing buildings. The architects talk the new urban people-connection language. We'll see if it's just talk.
  12. Is capital plaza III all three of the buildings in the picture?
  13. That would stink. You can't drive around there as it is.

... and the next day Piglets voice died also ... weird but true.
  15. 1) Because you still have to deal with a rotting sector of abandoned and delapidated buildings and a bunch of asphalt you left behind. Not only will it look like crap (even worse than today) but it will breed crime that I will have to pay for more police and or sherrif patrol. 2) Because you have to knock down trees and cover a bunch of new land with asphalt And you have no problem with this? By this logic downtown Orlando shouldn't put new condos where old abandoned buildings stood, but rather just leave the old downtown to rot and try to start a new downtown elsewhere. Hey, this gives Parramore room to grow. Maybe Parramore should be abandoned too and we could clear some land and see who we could get to move there. We would also have a big rat-infested, crime-ridden CBD to be proud of. It is my money and I wouldn't want to support a policy where whenever something gets old, you just move on, leaving a trail of asphalt and abandoned buildings in the wake. I see why you are such a Crotty fan.
  16. This all reminds me of Saturday Night Live, when Dan Akroid started his rebuttals with, "Jane, you ignorant peppermint."
  17. I think (thing) some of us idiots are being just a little too sensitive. Jaybee is a trusted contributor to this forum ... so cut our friend some slack. There are times I think a lot of you are idiots but I value your opinions (sometimes) and I'm sure I come off as an idiot from time to time (maybe all that time). Who friggin' cares? So keep 'em coming Jaybee; and you too Camillo. Cheers, Idiot
  18. ... I'm fine with the language. I've been called worse. Speak your mind.
  19. ^ Staff Reports for TT and Washington Street are now linked in the June MPB Agenda. WSD is 410' at 40 stories.

Doesn't CSX only move coal through town late at night. So the lease back of track time during these hours should not interfer at all with commuter operations.

Orange poised to kill rail deal Officials raise a raft of concerns about running a commuter line parallel to I-4. By Scott Powers | Sentinel Staff Writer Posted June 9, 2005 Orange County may kill a deal for a commuter train through Central Florida and turn down hundreds of millions of dollars in state and federal grants, just as it did with a light-rail plan five years ago.
  22. Actually, it's kinda tucked into the corner between the main ballroom and the cheyenne saloon. The entrance is right next to the main ballroom entrance.
